This Z28 has been tastefully restored with a professional repaint with new decals, a beautiful interior restoration, a wonderful restored undercarriage, a 383 crate engine, and some very tastefull and high-priced mechanical improvements over stock. This Z28 is very solid with straight lines and no signs of rust in the body or frame at all. It looks great, runs like a beast, and is an absolute blast to drive. This is an excellent opportunity to own a classic Z28 that is ready to be used and enjoyed at an unbeatable value. One could easily buy this car now and sell it for more than the purchase price in years to come. This Z28 is finished in the beautiful and very rare color combinations of Red Orange (79) over Tan vinyl (62). Red Orange is a very low production color in 1980 with only 4,374 Camaro's painted in this scarce gorgeous color. This is the correct and original color combination as verified by the code on the trim tag pictured below. Please peruse all of the photos and video below to get a true sense of how nice, clean, and fresh this Camaro really is.

model description

The 1980 Z28 came with the extremely popular Z28 hood which included a rear-pointing raised scoop (air induction) with a solenoid operated flap which opened at full throttle, allowing the engine to breathe cooler air. The 1980 Z28 also offers unique style upper and lower front grill and smaller revised graphics on its lower-door decals. The side scoops were also changed from a louvered design to a flatter one with a single opening.

The Red Orange exterior is in excellent restored condition. A high quality re-paint was completed less than one year ago where the body was taken apart piece by piece, stripped to bare metal, painted, and reassembled; plus all new correct decals were installed. As one can see in the photos, the paint has a brilliant gloss, beautiful shine, and smooth finish. Often many Camaro's will have particularly chipped up front ends, this car does not, both bumpers are in excellent condition with no flaking or faded paint. We have taken specific photos of the quarters, rockers, underside, and other areas most prone to rust to show how amazingly clean this car is. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some very small bumps in the paint on the right rear corner, which are not very noticeable and shown in the photos. The BF Goodrich tires are virtually brand new sized 235/60/15 in the front and 255/60/15 in the rear; they still have the nubs and mold marks on them. The factory rally wheels are excellent shape. They are freshly painted along with the car and look splendid. All weather stripping and window sweeps are new and in excellent condition. Trunk is very solid and freshly painted with a new trunk mat. As one can see in the photos, the underside of the car looks almost as good as the top.

The Z28 looks just as good in person as it does in the photos

The restored Tan interior of this Z28 looks splendid. New original style seat covers were recently installed on the front and rear seats and show no signs of excessive wear, rips or stains. There is one tiny spot on the driver's seat, but as one can see in the photos it is hardly noticeable at all. The dash pad is in great shape with no cracks or splits and is not faded or warped from the sun. The original 8 track stereo remains in place in this fantastic Z28. The dash bezel is in good shape as well and there is a auto meter oil pressure gauge located in the map pocket to accurately read the cars running oil pressure. The carpet is in like new condition with no major stains, rips, or holes. All of the gauges work as they should with the obvious exception of the clock. The blower motor operates on all speeds for heater. The windshield wipers also works as do the turn signals and horn. Some of the plastics could use a lights sanding and dye to show better. The door panels have been newly replaced and look great with no cracks or splits, and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The door sills have been recently replaced as well and look shiny and new. The headliner and package tray are both newly replaced and in great condition with no sagging, stains or warping. This car has not been smoked in; there are no burn marks or aroma what so ever.

The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos.

This Z28 is in fully restored mechanical condition and all of the accessories work. Much care and resources have gone into rebuilding this entire drive line and all mechanicals are in great running condition. The new 383 engine has several upgrades which complement this awesome build such as: 215 pro top line heads, hydro roller comp cam(600 lift), crane roller rockers, forged small dome pistons, high rise performance intake, MSD 6 al ignition with Unilite Mallory distributor, 8.5mm wires, new Holley race carb., 3500 stall convertor, new 3 row champion aluminum radiator with external transmission cooler, M/T valve covers, Edelbrock fuel pump, etc. etc. etc. Needless to say this Z28 is blisteringly fast. Dynatech ceramic coated headers are coupled with a new Pypes x pipe Street Flo 3" stainless steel exhaust system, the exhaust tone of this Z28 is simply amazing and very healthy. Factory 3.42 gears with posi traction are complete with a Moser girdle. The suspension was also upgraded on this Z28 including: Energy suspension polyurethane bushings and body mounts, competition engineering sub-frame connectors, all new U joints, and new rear leaf springs. This Z28 is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. It is a bit cold blooded as one would expect. The brakes do not pull to one side or the other. The engine is clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. The speedometer, oil pressure, fuel, and battery gauges all work as they should; the speedometer operates fine, but the odometer does not turn. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car, especially on a beautiful day.

Overall Condition

Overall, this 1980 Z28 is in awesome restored condition. This is a show car that runs exceptionally strong that will impress all who are around it. It is a great value and we have it priced to sell. It would be impossible to build this car as it sits today with all of the big ticket upgrades and high level of workmanship for anywhere near our asking price. This car turns heads and gets tons of attention wherever it goes.
