This 1965 Mercedes Benz 220 SE b Coupe is in White with Medium Red.
Mercedes has always been in the practice of offering special two-door coupe or cabriolet versions of it's saloon cars, and the 220SEb took this supreme elegance to a whole new level in the late 50's and early 60's.
With it's signature upright headlights and imposing traditional Mercedes-Benz grille, the coupe comprised a light and airy pillarless style over a distinctive two-door body.
This car was sold new through the European Tourist Program, then delivered to the owner in San Diego, CA.
A ONE OWNER car from new.
This car has only 103k documented miles with every document kept with the car, from ordering the production of the car through to today.
The model's 2195cc, SOHC engine with mechanical fuel injection of the same type as the 'Pagoda' SLs - its 120bhp being sufficient to enable the car up to 106mph. The motor and drivetrain are original.
Engine no. 127984-12-004307
This car runs and drives great. Smooth idle, strong through the gears, with a smooth transmission.
The paint is very bright and even over the entire car. Repainted over ten years ago.
The 220 coupe was very well appointed inside, featuring Mercedes textured leather and wood trimmings. This car still retains it's original Becker Mexico tube radio and dealer installed A/C.
The front seats, dash and wood were recently restored by Antique Auto Restoration. All correct German material was used.
All original books, stamped service booklet, all documents, spare keys, original tool kit and spare will be presented to the new owner.
A rare opportunity to purchase a documented one owner California car in it's original color combination with complete history.
