Description

Just finished....starting point is an excellent rust free car, probably the best original late medal MGB we have ever had, excellent mechanicals (70 psi oil pressure, 140-150 psi compression in every cylinder, no smoke), perfect working overdrive, Minilite style alloy wheels, all new brakes, very nicely detailed engine bay, perfect original dash pad, new convertable top, excellent interior (even the original carpets are like new...and possibly are!), perfect underneath with no rust and no undercoating other than original factory, new paint over a perfect body, 67,000 original miles (and covered only 1,300 miles during the past 7 years). Beautifual medium blue with Autumn Leaf interior. Work we have done: installed Weber carb (more power) and tubular headers, lowered to pre 1974 1/2 ride height (better handling) with new springs and bushings, front suspension pieces sandblasted and enameled, and a complete professional chrome bumper conversion (better looks). And added a wood dash, wood steering wheel, modern stereo, new bumpers and grille, etc. Now, really the best 'of the old' and the 'best of the new' in an MGB. Such features as electronic ignition, thermostatically controlled radiator cooling fans, servo assist brakes, front and rear sway bars, the best dash with the biggest instruments, the list is quite extensive. Great cars ONCE you overcome the three small areas of annoyance. Ugly, ill handling, and gutless. BUT NOT now. These are great cars....fun to drive, very simple to service, contemporary performance, and real style. Just finished.
