The Chevrolet Impala has been a staple in the GM line up since 1958. When conceived, these were big, beautiful cars that were the pinnacle of the Chevrolet model, offering performance mixed with style and flair. In the early 60s, the Impala had been refined with smooth lines and a lower stance pioneering the Long and Low look that became so popular at that time. It also came in many forms: a 2 door couple, a 2 door hardtop, a 2 door convertible, a 4 door Hardtop, a 4 door Sedan and a 4 door Station wagon. There was and impala to fit anybodys needs at that time, and with the addition of certain performance packages and the Super Sport, these cars could be ordered in nearly and configuration to fit the personality of its owner. It is no wonder why the Chevrolet Impala was one of the best selling vehicles of all time.
We are pleased to present this numbers matching 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS Sport Coupe. This two owner car was harvested from the climate friendly location of Pueblo Colorado where it was purchased new used sparingly and maintained until 2001 when acquired by its current owner as a rust free, non-problematic running and driving vehicle. Since, the car was treated to a high quality, highly detailed, frame off restoration retaining all its original sheet-metal and using only original parts and minimal New Old Stock parts where necessary. The car is finished in its original Lagoon Aqua / Ermine white two tone paint scheme over very attractive Ivory Interior. It is powered by its correct 327 / 250hp engine fed by a 4 barrel carb and mated to its 2-speed power-glide transmission. The engine is believed to be original and the numbers and date codes indicate so. However, Chevrolet did not start putting VIN numbers on the block until 1967 so the block cannot referenced to the VIN number. Options include Power steering, power brakes, bucket seats with console shift, rare factory tachometer, SS wheel covers, tinted windshield, rear mounted antenna, padded dash and right side mirror. Mechanically this Impala SS is fully and drives as the day it left the St. Louis plant in March of 1964. The car has been enhanced with vintage air and a quality aftermarket stereo. This is a great opportunity to acquire a premium example of and automotive American icon. Documentation includes original warranty book, original owners manual, selling dealer, and original owner information.
