Description

The story of this specific Jaguar is one of a kind. This specific example has been restored in an amazing way. The costs have been extremely high even as the level of restoration. More then 130.000,- euro?s have been spend on this car but the story actually begins in 1998 when a Dutch family decides to travel all the way to the United States to find a nice Jaguar MK2. At friday, the 28th of August 1998 this car was found in an advert in a local newsletter near Seattle in the United States. Due to the fact that the family had an initial appointment to look at a Jaguar approximately 3.5 hours along in the States, an option was asked after inspecting the car with MagLight and the headlamps Hot Replica watches of a car. The car seemed to be rather good without a lot of rust, only some towing damages on the bumper. The Jaguar was purchased some months ago from a gentlemen who unfortunately died. This Gentlemen, owned the car for a very long time and had driven the Jaguar in Hawai. The car was bought by the Dutch family and shipped to the Netherlands in February 1999. A company named Coventry Cars in Nuland had the opportunity to restore this Jaguar. Money was absolutely not an issue and the parts used had to be from the very best level. We were able to speak with the lady who gave the order for the restoration, she told us stories that the chrome had to be send to the United Kingdom because in the UK it was possible to get a better and thicker chrome as in the Netherlands. This lady spend a total of ? 100.000,- euros on the car but unfortunately the restoration company did not exactly what they said. The lady was ripped off with different things such as the engine rebuilt. What started as a dream became a nightmare and on one day she decided to give away this car to a good friend, mister Onrust in the Netherlands. ?Mister Onrust did not had to pay any cent for the car as long as he should finish the car on a very high level. So mister Onrust did. He spend another ? 40.000,- euros on the Jaguar and brought it to one of the best specialists for Jaguar in the Netherlands, named Kolvenbach. A complete new engine was built and the car was finished. The final result is absolutely amazing. The Jaguar has an amazing color combination and a very nice interior. The wood inside is the nicest wood we have ever seen in a Jaguar MKII. The leather which has been chosen is very soft and has a superb color. Altogether this Jaguar MKII has cost a fortune to restore but the result is absolutely amazing.
