Description

Just finished extensive preparation Nice car, runs and drives great, all new Autumn leaf interior, appears to have been stripped to the bare metal and resprayed once. When it came in, rusted rockers and sills. With bits of surface rust here and there. Remarkably, NO other rust. Runs great....150-155 psi compression in every cylinder, no smoke, 50+ psi oil pressure when warm, feels like a high lift cam (and the engine pulls unusually well and 100_ mph is easily obtained), brakes feel fine (and just redone by us), transmission has pefect synchromesh action, front end is tight (but we installed new rack boots and lower A arm bushings), all gauges work properly, even the interior light works. Wiring looks almost like new, entire exhaust just replaced, carbs disassembled and cleaned/adjusted. As we moved along, did the following: wherever there was rust, professionally welded new factory (UK) panels with the result, body is now is absolute rust free, almost 'as new' condition. Just repainted in a deep BRG....inside the engine bay, jambs, rear deck, etc. Absolute show finish having been hand wet sanded and buffed. Installed a new early grille, new bumpers and guards, all new light seals and gaskets, removed the front and rear windows when painted and replaced with all new gaskets and compression strips. A VERY nice job. Converted the car to wire wheels using all new splined hubs and new chrome knock offs. Can fit painted or chrome, 14" or 15" wheels (which fit perfectly and give much higher gearing, moving towards the gearing one gets with overdrive). We also removed the side lights (and with the early grille) giving the car a pre 1968 look. Which is great 'cause in so many ways, this car is FAR superior to an early B....having been desmogged, very similar power, all synchro trans, negative ground, alternator, better instrumentation, face level air vents, all in all, a better B. This is one of the most attractive MGBGTs we have ever had and for good reason.....we did it for my own use and we put a lot of effort into the body prep, painting, and detailing. The result is one beautiful car. 105 mph top speed, easy cruising at 60-90 mph, economical, inherently reliable and easy to service, now with zero rust, and in great condition. Please note: this car is often at my house so IF you are interested in viewing/driving, please notify us a few days prior to a visit so we can have the car at the showroom.
