Beautiful, straight, perfect running example of the most valuable and desirable of ALL MGBs. A 1965 'pull handle' MGB. No history (happens, now and then...last owner just enjoyed it), appears to have a rebuilt engine and trans....can'f confirm BUT it is all spotless, painted in a way it could be done out of the car, 145-150 psi compression in every cylinder, 65+ psi oil pressure cold or warm, zero smoke cold or hot, perfect running, all hardware appears to be new, carbs are perfectly synchronized. smooth and powerful. Other things we can see....excellent rust free floors, excellent original battery boxes, new front springs, rack boots, and tie rod ends, new master cylinders, new radiator, excellent chrome throughout,. excellent original wiring harness, beautiful engine bay detailing. Also has the original (and rather rare) aluminum bonnet, oil cooler, even the bonnet padding. Interior: like new....all redone, everything works, even the original AM radio, Body is very straight, doors fit perfectly, as a Florida car, the paint took a lot of heat and there are a number of very small heat cracks here and there. Stand back five fee, excellent. Up close....well, why sweat the small stuff? Top is very good, trunk carpeted, has the most expensive style of chrome luggage rack, new seat belts, quiet exhaust, original banjo style steering wheel, all in all a wonderful example of this early car. Don't discount the delight of owning an early B. With 98 horsepower, rated at 105 mph, 0-60 in around 11 seconds, great ride, handling, steering, and a fabulous 'feel.' All reason I have owned a red 1965 MGB for years and seem to use it, every Summer, more than any of my other (and all far more expensive) collector's sports cars. Best of all, one can derive the pleasure of real sports car driving at speeds reasonable close to the legal limit. Want more power? 110, 120, 130 ever more....or read about the conversion work necessary to win an SCCA championship. Want higher gearing? Several companies make kits to install modern 5 speed transmissions. Add a mdoern stereo/CD, maybe electronic ignition, you can own a wonderful near fifty year old collector's sports car that will always be relatively inexpensive to own. Inexpensive? From Moss Motors, as an example, a new front bumper is $119. And a rear is $95. So no worry about parking lot mishaps. They are study, dependable, FUN sports cars. And this year is the best of all.
