Description

A beautiful, original, rust free early MGB.....a dream of a 'find.' Excellent body....went over all of the edges, rockers, quarters, etc. with my kitchen magnet and could find ZERO bondo. Hey, its the best I can do since the 1.35v Mercury cell batteries of my XRAY vision glasses are no longer available. Very nice red paint with a small area of cracking at one small spot of the trunk lid, beautiful interior, excellent chrome, wire wheels, what appears to be a virtually perfect 'udnerneath' (floors, sills, etc.). A wonderful example. Our tests: 155-170 psi compression in every cylinder, no indication of oiling on the plugs, no smoke, 70-80 psi oil pressure when warm, it really doesn't come any better than this....even when this car was brand new.....nearly fifty years ago. Transmission is quiet and has excellent synchromesh action, front end is tight, engine bay is incredibly clean for an original car, zero rust in the trunk, brand new top, even has its original Blaupunkt AM radio. All in all, a hard car to top. And what a car these were/are!!!!! With 98hp, a top speed of 105 mph, great ride, precise steering, wonderful handling, smooth, lively and very stylish. Inherently reliable, easy to service, parts availability is awesome (a new front bumper is $119, a rear is $99). AND IF YOU FALL in love with your MGB, no limit to the modications one can perform (my own '65 red MGB has a modern Ford 5 speed, bored to 2 liters, crossflow alloy head, twin Webers, negative camber front control arms....with 150hp, acceletates like a Lotus Elan, better gearbox, and never seens to break). Just in and ready to drive anywhere.
