Description

This is a gorgeous presenting Silver Shadow finished in 2-tone Peacock blue over Sand with cream interior. Completed with hand-painted fine lines to the waist-lines and hubcap beauty trim rings finished in a contrasting gold. The Peacock/Sand combination is unusual and yet very elegant and classic for a Silver Shadow. Wonderfully, the Peacock blue top colour deepens in tone at night with the car taking on quite a different appearance. Under sunlight, the colour pops with considerable panache. Please see the photo link where I have tried to capture the contrast in varying light conditions. It is a unique combination and certainly looks lovely from all angles. The exterior of the car is straight and is totally rust free with the underside clean and tidy. It has been a snow-bird Florida car most of its life. The paint is in excellent condition with the finish high in luster and consistent all over. It has only very minor little marks here and there but certainly nothing noticeable and mentioned purely for the purpose of clear disclosure. It is very nice indeed. The paint is so good, that it is quite clearly the result of a high quality repaint ($15,000+). I would guess it was redone in the last 8-10 years with the car having been used very little since. Inside door edges and jams are incredibly clean and tidy without unsightly overspray and all the signs of a quality restoration. She presents beautifully with all chrome, bright work and glass in good condition. The interior of the car is excellent. The seats are the totally factory original Connolly hide leather presenting in excellent condition. Truly exquisite and the photos show this well. The interior is without any tears or unsightly wear marks and truly looks like new. The interior is very smart and displays the toned hand-tanning look which was a hallmark of these great cars. Door panels, finishings, interior chrome work, gauges and instruments are all in very fine condition. The African burl walnut appears to be original and is in good condition. Albeit a few nicks from the where the front seat belt buckles have come in contact with the finish (rather typical) it is very nice indeed. This is quite rare for Silver Shadow as usually by this age the lacquer is cracking and peeling. For the wood in this example to be in its original condition means the car was well stored its whole life as heat/cold, moisture and humidity quite usually take their toll. The original Wilton wool carpet, headliner, rear parcel shelf and dash pad are all in very fine condition. The trunk carpet looks near new and presents nicely. Tyres are the smart Michelin XH 215/75 whitewalls, with the hubcaps straight and the stainless steel shiny. Mechanically the car is fantastic. It has been recently work-shopped with all the hydraulics/braking system serviced and working well. The car has been well maintained over the years with the more typical items having been done. At Park-Ward, we went over the entire vehicle and attended to whatever was needed. This included solid and flexible brake lines, reservoir flush, brake pumps and accumulators, calipers, valves and restrictors. The engine truly purrs and gear-change is smooth and quiet. The car is very spritely in power which is a good sign of a well cared for and good condition motor. The ride is smooth and quiet with none of the rattles and squeeks that can be typical of this model. The odometer reads 77,000 and although not verifiable, shows every sign of a low mileage example. A/C blows ice cold and the heater works well. Electricals have all been serviced so windows, seats and features & functions work as they should. All interior and exterior lighting has been checked with all bulbs and lamps functioning correctly. The original Rolls-Royce jack and operating manual come with the car. Read More: www.park-ward.com
