Description

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko Tribune

VIN: 124379N548983

Hugger Orange with Black Interior

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro was changed to look more aggressive. The heavily restyled body looked longer and lower. The wheel wells were flattened with sculptured feature lines flowing off the rear of the car and rear-slanting air slots ahead of the rear wheel. At the front of the standard Camaros was a new grille with 13 slender vertical moldings and five horizontal moldings that formed a grid surrounded by bright molding. A badge with the Chevrolet bow-tie emblem was in the center. There were single round headlights at the ends of the grille. The full width bumper integrated with the body color outer grille surround and there was a license plate holder in the center of the valance panel. Round parking lights were positioned on either side of the license plate. At the rear were wider taillight bezels with triple segment lenses.

The Yenko Camaro was a race-car inspired version of Chevrolet's popular Camaro. The car originated from a SS Camaro that was converted at one of the car’s designer Don Yenko’ s performance shops in 1967. During the conversion, Yenko switched the Camaro's stock engine for a Corvette engine and installed a stronger rear suspension and axle. In 1969, these changes were incorporated in a factory version of the car.

The 1969 Yenko Camaro came with spoilers in the front and rear of the car and a special cowl-induction hood with 427 badges on the sides. Stripes were put on the car's flanks and cowl hood. More 427 badges were placed on the car's back panel, along with badges reading "sYc". The Special Yenko Camaro "sYc" badges were also put on the sides of the car, on the hood and sewn into the headrests.

This particular car is a tribute to the Special Yenko Camaro. Equipped with front and rear spoilers, cowl induction hood, rosewood steering wheel, Sony AM/FM/CD radio with remote, center console with gauge package, power front disc brakes, M-21 Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, 3:55 12 bolt positraction, dual exhaust pipes, Torque Thrust D style aluminum wheels with BF Goodrich 235-60R-15 tires, and most all factory correct components including seat belts, shifter, and air cleaner.

The restoration presents extremely well. The paintwork is very nice, with no signs of wear or damage. The glass, chrome, and the stainless are excellent. The interior, door panels, upholstery, dashboard, carpets, instruments and switches are excellent. The engine compartment is extremely clean and has been very nicely detailed. Correct finishes are applied on the engine, and the components are not over-restored.

This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a Camaro in superb shape, nicely equipped drives and runs great, looks like a $250,000.00 original Yenko, and beautifully presented.
