This particular car started its life right here in the Atlanta area. It was ordered by a Ford Executive who worked at the Hapeville, GA Ford Plant. He put together quite an array of options which ultimately made this car 1 of 1 as shown in the Deluxe Marti Report information below. He was told the car spent most of its life in the Atlanta, GA area although at some point it made its way to the dry climate of Arizona. It then went to an owner in Nebraska in 2001 before it was sold again in 2004 to some folks in the Atlanta, GA area where it has been ever since. This Mach received a Rotisserie Restoration approximately 12 years ago and has been pampered ever since. The consignor bought it about 6 months ago and immediately had it transported to one of the finest restorers of Classic Mustangs in the Atlanta Area. The consignor had several high quality Mustangs restored by this gentleman and told him to go from front to back, top to bottom and do anything that was needed to freshen up the restoration that was done about 12 years ago. The end result is a truly awesome spectacle!!!
It wears its original colors of Light Pewter Metallic with Black Clarion knit/Corinthian Vinyl high back bucket sports interior seats. DSO code 21 shows it came from the Atlanta, GA ordering District where it was special ordered by a Ford Executive as a special lease plan vehicle. The original factory invoice has been preserved and is shown below listing all of the factory options. A Deluxe MARTI report was ordered and framed for show purposes. As you will see, this Mach 1 was 1 of 1 ordered with all of the options and in the color you see. These documents definitely add to the overall value of this beautiful Mustang
Approximately 12 years ago this Mach 1 received a very high level, rotisserie restoration on its original rust free body. An absolutely show quality paint job was applied at that time in the original Light Pewter Metallic color and truly looks like it just came fresh from the factory. The body is laser straight and body panel fit is top notch. All of the chrome, body trim and glass are show quality and are either original or NOS parts. The car is believed to have less then 750 miles on it since the restoration. While the paint was done 12 years ago you cannot tell it apart form a car that was just painted last week. This Mach 1 truly looks as good if not better then it would have on the showroom floor 43 years ago. The cars body is just about flawless, however upon extremely close inspection you may find a few minute rock chips. The only other flaw I could note are some small dings in the rear window chrome trim. I am being extremely critical but I doubt you will see any of these flaws in the pictures or perhaps even in person. This is pretty close to a Concours restoration done by high level professionals and you will not be disappointed!! Best of all the car was built to be driven and I have done just that and can assure you she drives as good as she looks.
As beautiful as the Light Pewter Metallic Exterior is, wait until you see the immaculate interior finished in the original correct Black Clarion Knit/Corinthian Vinyl with Pewter inserts. This is simply a stunning color combination!!! This Mach has the fold down sport deck rear seat option. Essentially everything on the interior is close to impeccable and correct. All of the gauges and lights work correctly including the clock! Center console looks great. The AM/FM Stereo is a factory original and works well however this car originally was equipped with an AM/8 track player which we do have and will be included if you want to bring it back to complete originality. Original rim blow, Tilt deluxe steering wheel looks like new and works correctly. In fact the current owner had the steering column sent out to a specialist who completely rebuilt the title wheel so it functions like brand new. Power windows all work great and adds to the lengthy list of options. Intermittent wipers, rear window electric defrost and Factory Air conditioning are a few of the other great options you will note on this rare pony! The Factory Air conditioning was also completely gone though and redone by a specialist and was upgraded to R134. Door panels, carpeting and headliner all look fantastic and a new set of Mach 1 floor mats were installed. Essentially, the interior is in showroom condition.
Ok, it’s time to get under the hood of this Big block 429 CJ Ram Stallion and I know many of you want to hear about the date codes and correctness of the drive train so here we go. The Mustang Restoration expert went through the drivetrain and related components to inspect date codes and part #’s and I will list those below. There is not a doubt that this Pony has its original motor and transmission. He did note that the rear end may be the only non-original component as it was changed at some point to a Detroit Locker rear. As you can see this Mach 1 currently has a great stance with the 15? Magnum 500 wheels wrapped in 235/60/15 BFG Radial TA’s. You could easily go back to the original look with Poly Glass Tires if desired. This car is a joy to drive with Power Steering and Power front disc brakes. Needless to say it has neck-snapping power and can also cruise effortlessly at 70 mph on the highway. I put about 30 miles on it the day I photographed it and can confidently say it drives like brand new if not better!!! You will see it has the original shaker hood system and assembly. The original carburetor was sent out and rebuilt and replaced. The original starter was rebuilt. All fluids have been changed. This Pony is turn key ready to go!!

I believe it looks as good, if not better, under the hood as it did on the showroom floor in 1971. Special care was used to make sure that proper hoses and clamps were used throughout.
The undercarriage and inside the trunk of this Pony are as pristine and correct as everything else. As you will see the floorpans were painted to match the car and yes, this IS a Barrett-Jackson Quality car!! All of the original and Factory Vin plates and stickers are still with the car as well.
Hopefully you can see just how fantastic this Rare J-code 429CJ Ram Air Mach 1 is. This is obviously a high end car so it is perfectly understandable if you would like to have an independent inspection done.
