Description

Stk. 1785 1967 Chevrolet Corvette
Many car enthusiasts agree that the 1967 model was the benchmark for the 2nd generation or C2 Corvette, due to five years of cumulative refinements that went into the making of this final year model. We agree and proudly present this stunning, #s matching, NCRS award winning 1967 Corvette for purchase. A&R Corvette Service of Patterson, NJ performed the frame-up restoration in 1990. After removing all exterior trim, the body was completely stripped and meticulously block sanded to remove any factory imperfections. The fiberglass body was primed, blocked, re-primed, blocked and sealed before three gallons of Marina Blue lacquer were applied to its now laser straight flanks and color sanded to perfection. As a testimony to all their work, the depth and luster of this correct paint still shows exceptionally well some 23 years later. All windows were removed and resealed with new gaskets as part of the restoration. The Speed Parts Center of Elmsford, NY performed a full-on rebuild of the original L36 (427/390 hp) big block. The block (casting #3904351) was boiled and all freeze plugs were replaced. All cylinders were bored .030 over and honed before reassembly. All connecting rods along with the crankshaft were reconditioned, magnafluxed and balanced. All valve train components including the camshaft, valves, valve springs, pushrods, rocker arms and lifters were replaced. New pistons and rings were fitted along fresh bearings, seals, gaskets, oil pump and timing chain. The flywheel was resurfaced and a new clutch disc, fork, pressure plate and throw out bearing were installed. The original M21 4-speed transmission delivers the goods to its original 3:36:1 posi rear end out back. All of its Soft Ray tinted glass has been replaced with correct date coded pieces along with replacement of the carpet, door panels and other interior odds and ends. All gauges are functional and were restored as was the optional AM-FM radio. This gorgeous Corvette competed in and took home a Second Flight Award in its first National Corvette Restorers Society event in 1991. We have that award certificate, a laminated copy of the original window sticker and detailed legend of all of its core engine parts and their original part numbers and the original owner's manual. If you missed your chance to own a legend like this Corvette back in 67… your second chance has just arrived.
