This car is a 1969 Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce / GTV Coupe.
The 1969 model year is one of the nicest looking versions of the lovely Giugiaro designed GTV Coupe. From the exterior appearance of the grille to the cool "Flying Buttress" seats and the nice dashboard / console layout. The car is finished in period and original Alfa Romeo color "Giallo Ocra AR109" yellow with black interior. It has a set of the Rare and highly desirable and original Cromadora Daytona 6 x 14 Alloy Wheels.
There were fewer than 700 US Spec GTV's built in 1969 and few yet remain. The GTV was Alfa's entry into the market and collectors are paying attention. Fully restored it has commanded a price of $35,000-$40,000 at auction.
This car belonged to a knowledgeable Alfa mechanic and aficionado. The 1750 engine was replaced with an 2000 / 2 liter motor and has 10.4 / 1 Pistons and European Cams. (Original 1750 engine available for an extra $1500.00) It has a pair of Weber 40 DCOE Carburetors. MSD Electronic Ignition and electric fan. It is mated to a 5 Speed transmission with lightened gears. It has the floor mounted brake and clutch pedals.
I believe that once a few details are sorted, this is a car that should be driven and enjoyed and it can be without any fear of dents, dings, etc. It handles beautifully! When was the last time you saw someone bombing around in a GTV? This car definitely attracts attention. That can be you!
Once you have lived with and enjoyed the car, you can decide if you want to maintain its current appearance or upgrade anything. It has some light typical rust that is shown in close ups, but it appears solid overall.
The owner passed away and it was sitting for a few years and was recently gone over on a tight budget. It needs some more work; brakes, clutch master seems to be sticking, heater is not working and some other small details. We all know that the worse thing for a car is to sit idle for a long period of time. The car is currently located on Long Island, NY and you are welcome to arrange a visit if you are interested.
It is the buyers responsibility to arrange pick up of the vehicle after full payment from its current location. Owner can assist with shipping arrangements if needed. Until the brakes and clutch are inspected and serviced, it is better if the car is picked up by trailer if it has to travel a distance.
Owner will assist with loading of the car, but transportation must be arranged by the buyer. This car is sold with a New York State TRANSFERABLE REGISTRATION, titles were not issued in NY for vehicles prior to 1973. Willing to ship worldwide. This car deserves a good, loving home.
