Description

A new, more modern looking Chevy truck was introduced in 1967, along with a new nickname: "Action Line". It was with this revision of the C/K truck that General Motors began to add comfort and convenience items to a vehicle line that had previously been for work purposes alone. Updated styling features for the 1967 Chevy Pickup trucks came with new body sheet metal that helps fight rust and a pickup box made of double-walled steel. The majority of 10 and 20 series Chevrolet trucks from 1967 to 1972 were built with a coil spring trailing arm rear suspension, which greatly improved the ride over traditional leaf springs. However, the leaf spring rear suspension was still available on those trucks, and standard on 30 series trucks. The front suspension on all Chevrolet trucks were independent front suspension with coil springs. GMC models came standard with leaf springs with coils springs optional; all four-wheel drive models (Chevrolet and GMC) had leaf springs on both axles. Several changes occurred in 1971. First came another new grille design (the "egg crate") for Chevrolet trucks and black paint over portions of the GMC grille. Second, an additional trim package was introduced: the Cheyenne. On GMC models, this was referred to as the Sierra. These packages consisted mostly of comfort features — nicer interiors, more padding and insulation, carpet, chrome trim, and upper and lower side molding and tailgate trim. 1971 was the first year for AM/FM radios factory installed. Finally, the front brakes on all light-duty trucks were switched from drum brakes to disc brakes, resulting in much less brake fade under heavy use. Everyone knows that the 1971 and 1972 Chevy trucks are the ones to own and the rapidly rising prices seen in all value guides and auctions reflect the same. What really sets this particular Cheyenne Super apart from the crowd is the dependability that sets it apart from the crowd. How can I make this claim? Well, every once in a while I take the "fun" part of this career choice to a new level and the words "ROAD TRIP" are echoed throughout the office. When I located this awesome K20 in Spokane, WA, we booked a few 1 way flights, made the deal, and then drove this beauty 2,200 miles back to TX in just 3 days. The truck drove smooth as can be and never missed a beat! When home, the truck was treated to a mild restoration that included; new exhaust, complete underside rust preventative paint (no rust in past, now no rust in future), spray-in bedliner, and a complete repaint in the original orange. Additional features and upgrades on this truck include; 350 V8, Automatic Transmission, 4x4 (4WD), Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Houndstooth Bench Seating, AM/FM/Cassette, Chrome Grill/Mirrors/Front Bumper, Weather Guard Diamond Plated Toolbox, Drawtight Tow Package, Heavy Duty Rear Bumper, Vent Windows, Woodgrain Interior Trim, Cloth Foormats, 16.5" Eagle Outlaw Rims, and BF Goodrich Radial All Terrain 33x12.5" Tires! Owner's Manual and partial service records also accompany this sale. Additional photos and video can be seen at WWW.MONACOLUXURY.COM.
