A fine example of a DB5 with original paint and leather trim with a concise history file. The car was purchased from Stratton Motor Company in the 1980s, though the AMOC Register records its participation at the Ferrari OC Goodwood Sprint in 1981 and Wiscombe Park hill climb in 1982, the driver on both occasions being listed as 'Jones'. From 2007 through to 2008 an extensive restoration was carried out by marque specialists, Chris Shenton Engineering, which included chassis repairs and new (inner/outer) sills, floors, outriggers, jacking points, trailing arms, locating points, etc. (A CD of images recording the restoration in detail comes with the car). '971 KY' was then fully mechanically rebuilt to 4.2-litre, 'unleaded' specification, incorporating a new cylinder block, new pistons, new valve guides, etc. New parts were used throughout and various other works carried out at a total cost of almost £44,000 to date (bill on file). The car then went to Bonhams Auction, Newport Pagnell in 2010. To make an appointment call Desmond J Smail on 01234 240636.
