Description

Specifications: 3,442 cc DOHC Inline 6-Cylinder Engine with Twin SU H6 Carburetors producing 180 bhp at 5,300 RPM, 4-speed Manual Gearbox, 4-Wheel Hydraulic Drum Brakes, Front Independent Wishbone Suspension with Torsion Bars and Anti-Roll Bar, and Live Rear Axle with Semi-Elliptical Leaf Springs. The XK120 was launched as an open-top 2-seater at the 1948 London Motor Show as a testbed and show car for the new Jaguar XK engine. The debut caused a sensation, persuading Jaguar to put it into production. The first 242 cars wore aluminum body panels (112 lbs lighter than the later steel bodies) which gave it a top speed of 120 mph, making it the world's fastest production car at the time of its launch. In 1949, the first production roadster, chassis number 670003, was delivered to Clark Gable. The XK120 was available in U.S. market as an open two-seater (OTS) Roadster, then also as a Drophead coupe (DHC) from 1953 and as a Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) from 1951. In addition to wire wheels, upgrades on the Special Equipment, or SE, version (also referred to as "M" in the U.S.) included increased power to 180 bhp, stiffer suspension, and dual exhaust system. This stunning 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE, serial # S675866, is finished in Light Grey with a Black Soft Top over a Red Interior. A copy of a Jaguar Production Record Trace Certificate accompanies the car and verifies its authenticity. Also included are pictures of the painstaking 5-year complete restoration completed in 2005. Upon completion, this stunning XK120 SE went on to win multiple JCNA titles including a near perfect 99.68-Point JCNA Winning Title. It carries a numbers matching engine. The matching, fitted luggage is stowed in the trunk and the tool roll with Thor hammer is included as well. indiGO Classic Cars is a member of the indiGO Auto Group.
