1955 CHEVROLET NOMAD

Take a look at this absolutely stunning and spectacular Custom 1955 Chevrolet Nomad “Phantom Delivery” brought to you by CARuso Classic Cars. This fabulous custom car is a multi-award winning show car that is well known by most Nomad enthusiasts and is certainly one of the finest Custom Nomad builds in the country. The attention to detail on this build is amazing and the graphics have been professionally applied by the owner who is a graphic artist. Let’s have a look at the details:

Body:

Custom Nomad Sedan Delivery, with (1) piece lift tailgate with gas struts. Reversed electric lift hood. Custom Headlights & Taillights. Steel filled window panels. Rear Quarters have been mini-tubbed 1-3/4" to fit larger wheels. Firewall & cowl vents have been cleaned up and removable custom aluminum panels fitted around the engine compartment are added. Custom fiberglass rear spoiler & front stainless surfboard roof rack. Fiberglass Surfboard. Custom billet alumuminum grille. One piece front bumper. DuPont Chromabase Premiere custom paint (96' Corvette Bright Aqua Metallic) with special painted graphics and pinstriping. Tinted glass all around. A car information sign has been professionally affixed to the tailgate for car shows.

Chassis:

Original 1955 Chevrolet "California" seamless frame. Heidt's Tub-ular "A" arms with 2" drop spindles and disc. brakes on front. RB's rear pocketed leaf springs and relocated shock mounts. GM 10 bolt posi rear axle 3:23 gears w/ disc. brakes. Air-Ride "Shockwave" (4) independent units with digital guages & (2)-2 gallon tanks complete the suspension package. Custom trailer hitch built-in for towing.

Wheels:

Billet Specialties SLX45 (minus rivets) "Fast Forward" wheels.

Front: 17" x 7" with Goodyear Eagle F1 215/45 ZR 17 Tires.

Rear: 18" x 10" w/ Goodyear Eagle F1 295/35 ZR 18 Tires.

Drivetrain:

Corvette LT1 (350 cid). Dual K&N custom air intake induction, Street & Performance modified computer chip & coated headers w/ O2 sensors including 2.5" dual exhaust w/ Flowmaster mufflers (jetcoated) & dual stainless wide oval pipe tips. GM 700R4 Automatic transmission (w/ overdrive). 230 amp Powermaster alternator.

Special Features:

Alpine 1,000 watt, 10 speaker surround sound system. AM/FM, GPS Navigation, 6 CD's, DVD w/ front & rear screens. Dakota Digital dash, Vintage Air AC, Raingear wipers, Ididit steering column, Dual Deep Cycle Batteries located in the rear arm rests. Billet Specialties custom steering wheel, B&M shifter, alarm system, White/Teal Ultra Leather (4) bucket seats. Car cover.

Trailer:

Plymouth Prowler modified matching trailer w/ custom 55' tailights matching Billet Specialties SLX45 wheels & Goodyear F1 Tires. Coleman Stainless Cooler, Camaro bumper, Vinyl Bra, Dust cover.

History & Information:

This Nomad has been to 35 shows in the first 4 years and has always taken "Best of Show" or "1st in Class" at every show it has entered.

In 2001 it was featured on T.V. for the "Mothers Show Series" at the "Super Chevy Show" in Epping N.H., at New England Dragway. It became the "Nomad National Champion" in 2002 at the Chevrolet Nomad Association (CNA) national event, (in Pennsylvania) where it won: "1st Place1955 Custom", "Best Engine/Drivetrain",(modified) and "PeoplesChoice" Modified. This was followed up with (2) magazine articles in the "Nomad Post".

The Nomad has less than 20,000 miles on it since it was first shown in July of 2000 where it won "Best of Show" at it's first car show. It has been to car shows all over New England, New York, Penn., and driven to events as far as North Carolina and West Virginia. It has seen limited use, mostly at cruise nights from 2004 onward.

Awards Documentation along with build pictures will be provided with the sale of the car. Also, Documentation of the appraised value and the receipts for the parts of the build are included along with magazine articles, show signage and other information.
