This Chevelle appears to be a 1970 SS454 ??? This is the way we purchased it years ago.
However we cannot verify,as the original engine is missing as well as the transmission ..
Perhaps it is a 1970 Chevelle Sport Coupe, but according to most Chevelle enthusiast sites, a 1970 is nearly impossible to verify without paperwork.
At 43 years of age, who knows what kind of changes if any have been made.... this car does have the the SS dash, all SS labeling, a Steel, Cowl Induction Hood for Big Block.
The front springs look like the heavier, Big Block springs ..So, if in fact, it is the Sport Coupe, then someone went to a lot of trouble and expense to make it appear to bee an SS factory ordered car.. the dash and wiring hook ups alone would have cost a bundle...
We cannot guarantee one way or another as all the number crunchers have given up on trying to identify what foundation this car originally was ..Check under 70 Chevelle SS identification on Google & see what all the websites for these cars say -Thanks !
In any case, here it is SS or Sport Coupe, restore it the way your prefer.
The former owner said this Chevelle was equipped with a Big Block. Spent most of its life in the dry western states.
