Description

1957 Ford Thunderbird VIN: D7FH310172, Engine: Ford 5.0L Electronic Fuel Injection Fiesta Red with Red Interior The Ford Thunderbird had done everything Ford intended for it to do. It captured the hearts of America and brought people into Ford showrooms to see firsthand that it was the car to own and be seen in. 1957 would be the third and final year for the original two passengers Thunderbird, and most feel the third year was the best one. In 1957, Ford had two of the most distinctive and desired automobiles on the road. One of them was the Thunderbird, the other was the Continental Mark II. Advertising continued to include the Thunderbird in corporate Ford ads, even when showing cars from their other divisions. The Thunderbird was also the focus of many automobile product and restaurant ads. At this point, everyone knew what a Thunderbird was, and it was being widely used on television and in popular motion pictures of the time. It was popular with celebrities and notable personalities across the country. Driving a T-bird said a lot about its owner. Because of the longer than normal production run, and because the 1957 Thunderbird received an attractive styling update that addressed some of the issues with the former models, sales grew to 21,380 cars. The final 1957 Thunderbird reached the end of the assembly line on December 13, 1957. Sometimes you come across a car that just simply looks so good, you feel your eyes wide open and you smile in absolute amazement that any classic vehicle can look so nice. Well this 1957 Thunderbird is just that. It has been updated with a Mustang 5.0L Electronic Fuel Injection engine, a 3.8L 4-speed automatic transmission and goes down the highway like a late model car, 70 mph at 1500 RPM, but with the classic 50’s look. After the late model engine and transmission swap the Thunderbird has been driven only a few thousand miles. The 5.0L fuel injected engine has received the important diagnostic tests and electronics setup so the ratios and performance data are tuned for maximum performance and dependability. While we have been the custodian of this exceptional motorcar regular cold starts as well as lubrication and fluid checks were performed always within the factory tolerances. The gorgeous PPG Fiesta Red paint has been rubbed and buffed out to perfection. The car has a matching porthole hard top and Black convertible top with German Sonnenland Black Canvas that is the original material used by Mercedes. The previous owner of 20 years wanted the best for this vehicle. Every detail was not over looked and with every look, from every angle, you cannot help but notice its craftsmanship and attention to detail. It has all original metal and zero rust. The exterior has all the original trim moldings with outstanding stainless, absolutely perfect chrome, and a laser-straight body with a perfect stance. This magnificent 1957 Thunderbird looks better than when it rolled off the factory floor. A full host of modern upgrades have transformed this 1957 Ford Thunderbird convertible into a modern-quality driver with classic “Baby Bird” styling. Rolling on Dayton stainless steel wire wheels fitted with Whitewall radials, power 4-wheel disc brakes, this sporty Resto Mod also features rack and pinion power steering, cruise control, Vintage Air climate control and an AM/FM radio with a connection for your Apple iPod. The car is immaculate inside and out. Some major styling changes took place on the 1957 Ford Thunderbird from previous years so the interior was kept original to include the instrument panel with the clustered gauges and dials, along with the upholstery and trim combination and red bench seat. This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a classic 1957 Thunderbird. It is in superb shape and is nicely equipped and beautifully presented.
