Description

A delightful, formal and upright limousine, which is spacious and tall, with a large sliding sunroof in the rear compartment, which is a rare and desirable feature. The car is very sound, clean and tidy, and is very respectable cosmetically. With decent paintwork and good leather interior. The driving experience is lovely, being smooth and comfortable, with the driving position giving a commanding view of the road, and somehow promotes a very relaxed attitude. Ideal for wedding hire use, but would also make a great car for family outings, etc. MoT tested until April 2014. Chassis No. GWN78. Reg No. DLF 739. £35,000 Snippets: Birthplace of The Tudor Dynasty The first owner was Col Edward Beddington-Behrens whose served during both World Wars. In 1917 he was awarded the Military Cross for this conspicuous gallantry & a year later he was the recipient of a Bar for the MC. In 1931 he married the Barbara J Burton, only daughter of Sir Montague Burton - a Lithuanian Jew who was the founder of the Burton Clothing Empire. Jessie & Edward divorced after a few years & they both remarried, Edwards 2nd wife was Princess Irena Obolensky, a member of Russian Royalty, this marriage also ended in divorce with both parties remarrying. Col Edwards 3rd and last wife was Irene Adela Kane her surname was changed from Kahn to Kane in 1945 by deedpoll. Edwards uncle was Sydney Schiff, an author who used the pseudonym of Stephen Hudson, his publications included: Concessions, Prince Hempseed, Celeste & Other Sketches. The Colonels home was The Palace in Much Hadham which was the birthplace of Edmund Tudor, founder of the Tudor dynasty. In 1446 Henry V's widow Katherine was sent by the Bishop of London to his Palace in Much Hadham, where she gave birth to Edmund. Edmund was the son of Owen Tudor and Queen Katharine (making him the half-brother of Henry VI) and the father of Henry VII.
