Description

This twin cylinder 2 litre 10 hp car, number 213 with engine 282B is in lovely condition and goes really well. The attractive four seat body work is very sound and smartly painted, the chassis and suspension is really good throughout and the mechanical components have just come back from Nigel Parrott Veteran Engineering with detailed invoices for over £22,000 for work done including a total engine rebuild, new wheel rims and fitting of an electric starter. Obviously the engine, which is remarkably smooth, is still being run in but even so you can feel the potential power which will surely give it strong performance on the road as well as good hill climbing potential. The three forward speed and reverse gearbox is really easy to use and has nicely spaced ratios. The steering is precise and the brakes pull up well so you can feel really confident about using the cars performance. Apart from its Brighton Run potential it would make a very good participant in the Paris-Madrid Reliability Trial which is being run in May 2013 to commemorate the 1903 Paris-Madrid race. I have been fortunate to have driven a few early twin cylinders in my time and this one definitely has to be among the best of the bunch! NB It has a Veteran Car Passport dated August 2011 and has just been issued with a new VCC Brighton Run Eligibility Certificate.
