This is a drop dead gorgeous Fastback. It has all the right options and the performance to back it up. There are very few miles on the total build. This car was built to drive and shows well. Tons of money have been spent and the car looks great.
The paint is recent and is of a nice, driver-quality. It was just professionally wet-sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. Take a look at the photos. This is a very striking and unique car.
The bumpers, chrome & stainless have all either been restored or replaced.
The floors, frame rails and torque boxes are all in excellent condition. Extensive labor was placed on stripping and coating the undercarriage with a spray-on bedliner. It is still in excellent condition and shows well.
The interior has nice quality reproduction upholstery installed including the seats, carpet, headliner and dash. The door panels are custom units. The dash bezels have all been replaced and an orignal font tach added to the instrument cluster in the clock position. A Flaming River Tilt-Steering Column has been added. It is a very nice touch and looks great in its machined finish.
Perhaps the true definition of 'Pro-Touring' is the upgrading of the steering technology. This Mustang has been equipped with a Power Rack & Pinion. These kits can cost $2500 and more.
A Heavy Duty 9" Housing was narrowed about 3/4" on each side and that really provides alot of additional dish on the wheel. A full 18x9" Wheel with Massive 285 Nitto 555 Extreme ZR Rated Tire just fits and looks perfect! The 9" Differential Housing was built for the big block. It uses an Aluminum Daytona Pinion Support in front of the 3.25 Gears and is equipped with a Trac-Lok so both tires grab evenly!
The brakes are 4-Wheel Power Disc that look great through the big Coys Wheels. They do require some pedal effort but will haul the car down from speed when asked.
Under the hood lives a 429 that has been bored & stroked to 472 Cubic Inches with a streetable 9.5 to 1 Compression. It is a fresh build with less than 100 miles on the clock. The build started with a 429CJ Block & Rods to which a 460 Crank was added. The camshaft was converted from the standard flat tappet to a Comp Cams Mutha Thumper Hydraulic Roller Camshaft with 227/241 Duration at .050 and .557/.540 Lift with a 107 lobe separation. The shortblock is topped C9 High Compression heads with Hardened Valve Seats, Stainless Valves, Comp Stainless Roller Rockers, Guide Plates and some mild port work. A Port-O-Sonic Aluminum Intake and a Demon Carburetor handle the air & fuel. Full 2 1/2" Exhaust with Flow Master Mufflers and Stainless Steel Rolled Exhaust Tips provide the music.
