Take a close look at this fully restored 1963 Impala. Front to back, top to bottom, it is one of the cleanest cars you'll find, right down to the painted and clear coated floor pans. The fact that it was redone as a dual quad 409 / 425hp car makes it all the sweeter.

This is a two-owner Impala with only 59,600 miles on the odometer and a solid rust-free past. The previous owner had the car for 30 years and completed a full frame-off restoration five years ago with only 300 miles since. A tremendous amount of work was put into this Impala, resulting in a spectacular like-new car that not only looks great but is fun and easy to drive.

The frame-off restoration was done right. Highlights include the beautiful turquoise paint with six layers of clear (wet sanded after every two coats). The floor pans received the same paint and clear coat; it is quite a site underneath and is indicative of the effort that went into this car. The steel wheels were also painted including the spare. Note the skinny red line bias ply tires with dog dish hub caps. The car has all new bushings throughout along with new stainless steel brake and fuel lines. All glass and rubber seals are new. All shocks and springs are new. All wiring is new. The entire interior was completely redone. The seats have new foam and covers, front and rear. Carpet and headliner are new, along with the padded dash and sunvisors. There is dash tach with 6,000 rpm redline and a radio delete plate.

The car was redone as a 409 / 425hp version. The Impala W-motor features an Edelbrock aluminum intake with dual 4-barrel 600cfm carburetors and original style air cleaner. It has a reliable hydraulic camshaft that is perfect for street driving and long-term reliability. Behind the engine is a rebuilt Muncie M22 4-speed transmission with Hurst shifter and Summit Ram clutch kit, making for smooth and accurate shifting. The long tube headers and dual exhaust with long body mufflers give the car a nice sound.

This Impala really is a blast to drive. The 409 has plenty of power but is surprisingly happy on the street. It starts up without a fuss and does not overheat. The manual brakes and steering are not too bad, especially with the generous steering ratio and big steering wheel. Put a little foot into the accelerator and you're right back in 1963 when these cars ruled the street.

You hear the word "restored" used far too liberally these days. A quick paint job and carburetor rebuild does not mean a car is restored. But this Impala has REALLY been restored. It is like a new car with fantastic looks and performance to match. You just don't find many Impala Impalas this nice.
