1964 GTO fully documented car with PHS, window sticker and original Pontiac Ident-o-plate attached to original service manual. I have contacted and met with the second owner regarding the cars history and his experience with the original owner, who took delivery of the car in Pensacola, FL in 1964. The second owner had the entire drive train, brakes and suspension rebuilt by Pontiac expert and master engine builder Jim Taylor at his engine shop in Phillipsburg, N.J. All of this information along with the complete history, rebuild specifications, pictures and receipts for the car, will be past along to the future buyer (binder with pictures and full documentation). Jim Taylor is a friend of mine and according to Jim, the owner at the time of the rebuild spared no expense on parts, equipment and service. He put all the best stuff into the rebuild. Jim advised me that a rebuild of that caliber today would cost in the neighborhood of $12,000 to $15,000 just for the engine. It is a rust free original car (very rare for that age and year) and is absolutely solid through and through. Sounds and drives like a true muscle car because its the one that started it all. Specifications: 1964 (First year for the GTO), Color Marimba Red, Hard Top, 389ci with 421 heads, numbers matching, Tri-power, Borg/Warner Super T-10 transmission, 4 Speed Hurst shifter, 355 posi-traction rear. The second owner still has in his possession the 4 speed manual transmission that was in the car when he purchased it from the original owner. He also has the original exhaust manifolds for the engine and a period correct 4bbl. carburetor and intake (all rebuilt by Jim Taylor) for this 1964 GTO. Contact information for the second owner can be supplied to the future buyer upon request. Mileage: Original mileage 142,564.....The drive train, brakes and suspension have 7,000 miles. Options: power steering, remote side mirror, custom steering wheel (4 spoke), original stainless steel spinner hub caps, tilt wheel, two speed windshield wiper with washer, reading light, center console, Pontiac AM/FM radio, engine compartment light and heavy duty radiator. Engine does have powder coated headers with original factory splitter exhaust, all installed by Jim Taylors shop. It has MSD ignition hidden up under the passenger dashboard to keep with the original appearance. I have the original 14 wheels with Firestone Firehawk SS20 tires in addition to a second set of 15 Rally II wheels with brand new tires including trim rings, red capped lugs and PMD caps (All new). Also included is a top of the line car cover. Car has been garage kept. I also have the original spare wheel and tire (red line poly). New interior head liner (original spec), original vinyl seats were re-packed with poly foam, window weather stripping replaced, switched out original brake master cylinder (single chamber) with period correct dual chamber brake master cylinder. New GTO carpet floor mats.
