THIS HAS A 1968 NASCAR CHARGER PAINT THEME, PAINTED LIKE THE ORIGINALS, NOT STICKERS. IT HAS BEEN RESTORED AND HAVE THE RECEIPTS TO PROVE IT, WITH EVERY NUT AND BOLT BEING REPLACED, REBUILT OR REPAINTED. THE BODY HAS ALL THE ORIGINAL BODY PANELS, WITH ONLY MINOR REPAIRS. I DRIVE THE CAR DAILY IN THE SUMMER AND IT IS VERY RELIABLE AND A TRUE TURN KEY CAR. IF YOU LIKE DRIVING A CAR THAT GETS NOTICED, THIS IS IT.
This is some of the new parts that were replaced and some of what has been done to the charger.
The engine is a 318, that has a roller timing chain, high volume oil pump, 340 intake, 650 Edelbrook carb, and dual exhaust, other than that it is stock. I went with the small V8 for driveability and weight, the car handles great with the lighter motor.
The transmission is the manual A833 overdrive; forth gear is about a .73 overdrive.
The rear end has 3.23 gears in an open sector, the bearings and seals have been replaced.
The brakes are the large 11”manual drum brakes, front 11” x3”, back 11”x2-1/2”. All rubber and steel lines have been replaced; master cylinder, all wheel cylinders, all springs and hardware, and all four drums are new too. The car stops great.
The suspension has had the upper and lower bushings, all the ball joints, all tie rod ends, idler arm and pitman arms have been replaced, the tie rod couplers and the strut rods are the thicker heavy duty type. The torsion bars are the heavy duty hemi size, as are the rear leaf springs. The front leaf spring mounts are the adjustable type. There is a front and rear sway bar also so the car handles great.
The radiator has been replaced with a three core copper factory type radiator. The heater core and all hoses and belts have been replaced, along with the blower motor and wiper motor.
All the wiring has been replaced; all the exterior light plastic lenses and side markers have also been replaced.
The interior has new carpet, sound deadener, head liner and door panels, most other parts have been repainted; the seats have not been recovered and could have that done yet. The rubber door seals and window whiskers have been replaced too.
