1957 Chevrolet Belair 2 door hardtop. If you have been looking for a turnkey 57 Chevy two door hardtop they don't get any better that this. The restoration started with a 95% rust free body. The only repairs done to the body were on the right quarter panel. The lower half of the right quarter panel was replaced with metal and done right. The rest of the body is original sheet metal including the floors. This 57 is from the south where is spent it's entire life. When you can find a rust free 57 like this one to start with the results speak for them selves. The body is straight and all the stainless is perfect. It has been polished to show car standards. Both front and back bumpers have been re-chromed with triple plating show chrome. The bright yellow paint is slick and shinny. It was done to show car standards also. All the body panels line up as they should making the fit and finish on the 57 Chevy outstanding! The interior was done using the original seats that have been recovered in maroon fabric with custom stitching that sets it off nicely. The carpet and headliner were done to match. All the chrome bows and stainless window trim are in perfect condition and set the interior off nicely. The dash was done retaining the original styling that help make this the icon it is. The only item modified was the dash pod. It has custom gauges including the temperature gauge to the left and fuel gauge to the right. In the middle you have the speedometer, tech, oil pressure and volt gauge. All of the gauges are easy to read and look great. The dash also has a custom stereo in place of the original radio. The unit is made to fit in the stock location of the original radio so the dash wasn't hacked up like a lot of these cars have been over the years. It's getting harder and harder to find 55-57 Chevy's that haven't been hacked up by people that didn't have a clue what they were doing. This 57 was very original when it was restored. That makes for a car that you don't have to worry about what's hiding under the paint that could show up later and cause problems. The windshield wipers have been converted to a under dash unit that hides the wiper motor and is a lot more reliable than the old vacuum units. The steering column has been replaced with a fully polished ididit steering column with a leather wrapped billet aluminum steering wheel. All the glass has been replaced with green tinted glass. The chrome window frames have been re-chromed and are in perfect shape. It's nice to find a car that has had that done. It shows the attention to detail and the money spent on restoring the car. The engine is a .30 over 350 small block Chevy that has been built for highway cursing. It runs strong but isn't wild. It's a nice turnkey engine that was rebuilt stock. The transmission is a fully rebuilt turbo 350 with a 10 bolt Camaro rear. The wheel are Billet Specialties fully polished billet aluminum wheels all around. They are 17 X 5 up front and 17 X 8 in the back wrapped in Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires. The front has custom disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors with the stock 10 bolt rear drum brakes out back. The car can stop on a dime with those power front disc brakes. The front suspension was rebuilt to stock specifications as was the rear. Please take the time to look at all of the pictures we have posted of this 57 Chevy and you can see for yourself how nice this car is. We show all of our cars at Longbeach Customs by appointment only so please give us a call to see this magnificent 57 Chevy.
