1955 Chevy Series II Custom Pickup
This is an original big back window, all steel, California truck purchased in Arizona in 2001 and rebuilt over a six year period and completed in 2007. It has less than 1500 miles since completion.
This truck was manufactured originally at the Los Angeles, CA Chevrolet factory. It was purchased out of a Los Angeles County junk yard many years ago by an amateur hot rod builder. He made the truck into a daily driver and drove it to work until he retired in the late 1980’s and moved to Prescott, AZ where the
truck was used to haul firewood until the engine failed. The owner became seriously ill and was forced to sell the truck to pay medical expenses in 2001. The truck was then sold for $3000. It was then hauled to AZ Corvettes in Tempe AZ to begin the long six year project.
It was then disassembled down to the last nut and bolt and everything except the frame, sheet metal and transmission was scrapped. With the exception of newly restored and re-plated bumpers, every part used to build this beautiful truck is NEW. The project was carefully scripted by its current owner to today’s freeway driving. It was also designed to be “elegant” and not “hot rod flashy”. It gets an amazing amount of attention wherever it is driven, however, it is not a trailer queen.
There is an estimated $137,000 invested in this project and it shows. Just review all the goodies:
