Description

Here at Streetside Classics, were often able to spot trends before they become widespread, just by watching what our inventory does. And lately, trucks like this 1970 Chevrolet C10 have been red hot. In fact, weve sold enough of them to confirm what we suspected long ago - these have become certifiable collector pieces. Of course, its hard to argue against them when they look this good and still offer a measure of practicality that most hobby vehicles cant touch. The short bed/regular cab setup is by far the most popular today, combining rugged good looks with the most compact and lightweight body style. This one is finished in Marina Blue paint that looks elegant and sophisticated, without distracting from the original designs clean lines. Forget all the extra trim that came with the upscale trucks, or the sometimes questionable two-tone paint schemes, this one simply offers a quality paint job over straight sheetmetal. A few dress-up items, like the chrome bumpers, HID headlights, and that funky side trim with wood appliques certainly improve the looks, and the white-painted CHEVROLET letters on the tailgate are a traditional touch that works well. The fully refinished bed shows zero indications that it was ever used to haul heavy, sharp stuff, a tradition youll probably want to maintain once you get it home. In the same way the exterior has been given a modest makeover to disguise the trucks blue-collar roots, the same can be said inside where the vinyl bench has been upgraded with fabric inserts that match the door panels. Blue carpets soften the environment and help control noise levels, and the metal dash and door panels have been painted to match the bodywork. The factory gauges are simply gorgeous and include a full array of instruments, including a rare factory tach mounted front and center. The dash hosts a newer AM/FM stereo head unit as well as factory A/C, which is more evidence that this truck has spent its life someplace warm and dry. The A/Cs efficiency is improved by a slight tint on the windows, and accessory cup holders have been neatly fitted to the dash, so its easy to drive every day without worries. Sometime simple is better, and the mechanicals in this truck have proven themselves over the years. The 350 cubic inch V8 engine isnt dressed for show, but its obvious that someone cared enough to install an upgraded intake manifold, carburetor and air cleaner, and maintenance looks like it has been regularly carried out. A new chrome alternator delivers the juice, while the dual exhaust system uses glasspack-style mufflers and polished tips located under the rear bumper. Power steering and power brakes are nice additions to a vehicle weighing nearly 4000 pounds, although it drives like a much smaller machine, and the lowered stance definitely improves handling. The transmission is a TH350 3-speed automatic spinning the original 12-bolt rear end. And who doesnt love those 15-inch Rally wheels with spinners that give the truck a factory-correct look. This C10 represents a great way to get into the hobby, and is a practical way to drive a cool old vehicle for not a lot of money. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
