The recipe for success is easy: take one handsome 1958 Chevy Apache pickup, drench it in vivid red paint, give it a comfortable and tasteful interior, and power it with a Corvette small block. The results on this one speak for themselves, making this pickup a ready-made piece of full-sized fun this summer. The red paint on this truck is so lustrous and shiny that youll be tempted to dip your fingers in it to see how deep it is. Delightfully bright and solid, its the perfect high-impact color for the stylish Apache, which blends a bit of style with a ruggedness that defined Chevy trucks for a generation. Close examination will reveal tight gaps and smooth body lines, all evidence that this truck was clean before the work started and that the guys in charge took their time. Crisp details like the raised hood edges and the bead along the rocker panels move beyond mere function, creating a truck that was as beautiful when it was empty as when it was hauling a heavy load. The side-mounted spare with black cover is a utilitarian feature that looks cool, particularly with the cut-out in the fender, and the forward-canted cab suggests power and speed, which this truck delivers. Wood in the bed warms everything up but if youre planning on hauling anything, bring something to protect it because its just too pretty to beat up. The black interior is just as neatly finished as the bodywork, and while they kept the original bench seat, it now wears a handsome vinyl and cloth cover thats vastly more comfortable than the factory-issued stuff. New carpets help control noise and heat in the cab and replace the original rubber mats, helping to further the luxury truck image. The factory gauges are quite similar to what youd find in a 57 Bel Air, and even the optional heater has been painted to match-a nice touch! They kept the big black plastic steering wheel which helps keep steering action light, and the only obviously non-factory piece is the B&M shifter on the floor. Radios were still optional in trucks, even as late as 1958, but this one will easily accept the head unit of your choosing without a lot of effort. According to the numbers, the 350 cubic inch V8 came out of a C3 Corvette and has been rebuilt to stock specifications. Up top, an Edelbrock carburetor hides under a chrome air cleaner, with a pair of bright valve covers to match. The block wears Chevy Orange, and it always looks great in a satin black engine bay like this. Long-tube headers funnel the exhaust into a new dual exhaust system with a great rumbling idle, and the original suspension has been subtly tweaked to give it just the right stance. The transmission is a reliable TH350 that replaces the original 3-speed manual, and the stock rear end still lives out back. Classic chrome wheels with baby moon hubcaps give it a traditional hot-rod look and wear 225/75/15 Kumho radials that fill the big wheel wells perfectly. Beautifully built and lots of fun to drive, this pickup is ready to enjoy without worries. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
