This expertly restored 1970 442 W30 is a numbers matching car built in Lansing, Michigan. It is 1 of only 262 Sport Coupe W30 package cars that were power delete; no radio, no power steering, no power brakes. This car was raced by the legendary Joe Mondello, (who originated the W30 program for Oldsmobile) from 1980 until 1985. 1980-1982 it held the Division II NHRA D-Stock automatic record of 11.86 seconds at 118 mph, which was two tenths of a second under the previous national record. From 1983-1985 it went into bracket racing. During that period, its best run was 10.90 seconds at 125 mph. The Mondello built motor is estimated to make more than 575 horsepower, with many modifications. The heads have been milled to the point that the factory exhaust manifolds will no longer fit. It has Hooker Super Comp headers with three inch exhaust pipes, and 40 series 2 chamber Flowmasters. We have a detailed list of all of the drivetrain and suspension modifications. This 442 is DIRTY FAST! Call David Clark at (317) 887-3441 for more information.
