Description

1969 Chevelle: A Full Restoration www.classiccarcenter.net This 1969 Chevelle SS is as nice as we have recently seen: • A replacement 350 V-8 engine with a performance cam; • Coated headers; • A new 4-speed; • limited slip rear; • Triple black • Power steering/brakes and More! This Chevelle appears to have been factory-built as a SS396 that had an engine change at some point in its history. These popular ‘69s just don’t get any better than this. They don’t get much Nicer! • Paint and Chrome The first thing that jumps out about this Chevelle is the quality of its Tuxedo Black respray. The paint work is far superior to its original red finish. Obviously this car has been pampered in a garage since its restoration with only a few road nicks that have been nicely touched up. Accented with the SS badging, this is a car that looks fast just sitting still! The trim is in very good condition to excellent condition. All of the windows are in good condition and both driver’s and passenger windows operate correctly. As would be expected with such a nice restoration, the body and underside of the car appear to be free of any apparent rust issues (see pictures). The black vinyl top looks as new and contributes to the look that only an all black car can have. • Interior The Black vinyl interior upholstery is in excellent condition; the front seat looks virtually new, as does the black carpeting. Similarly, the door panels are in very good condition. The dash pad is in excellent condition and free of cracks. All of the engine/systems monitoring gauges (temperature, amp, fuel and oil pressure) work properly as do the warning lights. Similarly, the speedometer and tach work, as does all of the lights and safety equipment with the exception of the backup lights and horn. • Engine The car’s replacement 350 V-8 runs strong, particularly with its performance cam and headers. The engine starts right up and runs well, providing all the thrill that the Chevelles are famous for. • Transmission The new 4-speed manual transmission is slick as a hounds tooth, allowing up and down shifts without any complaints. The clutch is smooth and doesn’t require a knee transplant to operate comfortably. • Rear End/Brakes/Wheels/Tires The rear end has a 373 limited slip rear end that helps handle the engine’s torque. This car has power front disc brakes and the wheels are mounted with BF Goodrich T/A tires--225/70R15s on the front and 275/60R15s on the rear, all four of which look almost new. The car has a spare but lacks a jack and wrench. The trunk (see pictures) is clean and appears to be rust-free. • Comfort Features Power steering and power brakes help turn this muscle car into a vehicle that any enthusiast will enjoy. The radio lacks an antenna and so its operating status can’t be determined. An Excellent Example of one of Chevrolet’s Most Popular and Collectible Muscle Cars The Chevelle SS is on almost everyone’s list of their favorite collector cars, known for its great styling and impressive performance, so finding a nice one can be a challenge. Our 1969 is a real find with its modified V-8, 4-speed and triple black color combination. These cars are highly in demand and therefore represent not just a great driving experience but a sound investment as well. After all, you can’t take your CDs or stocks/bonds for a weekend drive or to a car show: they may be blue chips but they will never take the blue ribbons!
