Originally assembled on March 13, 1959, this 1959 Corvette Convertible is in particularly nice condition, and comes in the extremely desirable Red/Red/White color combination. This cars paint looks to be recent, and is in very good to excellent condition with a stunning, deep shine. Convertible top looks to be recent as well, and is in very good to excellent condition with no obvious stains, and no rips or tears. Side glass shows correct date codes. Chrome bumpers and grille show a recent finish, and are in very good to excellent condition. Exterior stainless steel trim is in very good to excellent condition as well, showing no dings and a chrome-like shine. Exterior door handles appear to be recent, and are in very good to excellent condition. Weatherstripping and taillights also appear to be recent, and are in very good to excellent condition. Steel wheels are in very good to excellent condition, and wear correct appearing hubcaps in very good to excellent condition. Radial medium whitewall tires show nearly full tread depth remaining at an average of 9/32nds. The interior of this 1959 Corvette Convertible shows somewhat recent seat covers, sill plates, door panels, dash pad, and carpet, all in very good to excellent condition. Steering wheel is in good to very good condition, and the gauges are in very good condition with no apparent fading and good to very good condition lenses. Ashtray is in very good to excellent condition with a recent chrome finish, and a correct appearing Wonderbar radio is in place. The engine in this 1959 Corvette Convertible shows suffix DJ, which corresponds to 245hp with an automatic transmission. Engine compartment and frame have been very nicely detailed, and this car is ready to show. Correct air cleaner, intake manifold, valve covers, generator, ignition shielding, radiator hoses, and hose clamps are all in place. Carburetors appear to be correct, but cannot be verified as the tags are not present. The most recent owner, who has owned this car since 2002, claims that the car was body-off restored in 2006, with the engine being rebuilt shortly thereafter, and that the car itself was painted in 2006, although we have no paperwork to support this. He also claims that the Wonderbar radio is original to the car, that the transmission was rebuilt, and also that the carburetors were rebuilt in May 2012. This car has been fully serviced, and all instrument gauges, lights, turn signals, brakes, engine, transmission and rear-end are all in good operating condition.
