Description

If someone gave you a blank check and told you to build the ultimate 1965 Mustang, it may very well look something like this awesome GT fastback. Cost was clearly no object in this build and the result is a Mustang that looks incredible and drives even better. Forget Shelby clones, everyone has one of those. When you show up in this spectacular Black Jade fastback, people will definitely notice. You dont need flashy colors and stripes to stand out when the workmanship is this good, and the subtle paint emphasizes the impeccable finish work that probably took hundreds of hours. Theres a silver undertone to the paint when its out in the sun, and its the kind of car that you will turn around and admire as you walk away from it. The color is unusual, so it will stand out at shows and you should probably get used to folks at stop lights and gas stations asking you, Hey, what color is that? Yeah, its that nice. It also includes all the traditional Mustang goodness and doesnt look the part of a resto-mod. From the GT fog lamps in the grille to the 289 badges (which are an understatement, more on that in a moment) to the twin exhaust pipes poking through the rear valence, this one looks ready for the show field. The judges would probably be pleased with the black Pony interior, as well. Fully restored using reproduction parts, it sticks to the same understated stock look that makes the exterior so successful. The fat wood-rimmed steering wheel is the only part that gives it away, although the unique T-handle shifter for the World Class T5 5-speed gearbox will surely raise some eyebrows. A Vintage Air A/C system has been neatly integrated under the dash, with vents neatly divided by a pair of white-faced auxiliary gauges mounted on the center console. A fold-down rear seat makes this fastback eminently practical (note how neatly a set of racing slicks might fit back there) and the entire interior has been insulated with Dynamat so the AM/FM stereo sounds great. All the significant upgrades are found under the hood, starting with a 331 cubic inch stroker motor. Topped by an Edelbrock Air Gap intake, a 670 CFM Holley Street Avenger carb, and a pair of aluminum heads, it barks and snarls like the nastiest Shelby ever built. They decided not to make it look stock, and instead gave it a modern look with black valve covers with red lettering, an open-element K&N air filter, and trick billet shock tower braces. Other upgrades include an MSD ignition, deep-sump oil pan, copper and brass radiator, and a set of long-tube headers with a 2.5-inch stainless exhaust system. Subframe connectors reinforce the tub, making this fastback feel rock solid, and four-wheel discs give it impressive stopping power. 3.50 gears on a Track-Lok limited slip have been fitted inside the bulletproof 9-inch rear, and that subtle lowered stance comes from a set of custom springs and Koni shocks. Gorgeous black Halibrand wheels are the perfect finishing touch, and wear staggered 16-inch radials. If you were building it for yourself, this is probably how youd do it. So why wait, own this show-stopper today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835.
