What is this car now? What can it be? Who can make it what I want? This car is an Iconic 1963 Lincoln Continental with Suicide Doors. Without these cars the Lincoln brand, and some say Ford itself, was in real trouble. These cars caught the attention of a nation and at the time the luxury brand of choice was Lincoln. Lets face it, at that time you were either a Lincoln man or wanted to be. Currently this 1963 Lincoln Continental is a California Black Plate car that spent its life in the desert, the body is straight as an arrow and there is no rust, rot, or body filler. It is effectively as original, the climate that it lived its life did not allow it to rust. The paint has lost its luster and has very minor pitting in a number of places, but the gaps for all of the body panels are perfect and the panels themselves have no rust or rot. The interior and mechanicals need some work. It runs, it drives, it stops, and it will shift into gear. The major mechanical systems are all intact but need work to make it a car that you can drive everyday. As they say, the bones are all there. The secondary systems, windows, wipers, radio, gauges, etc. are a mixed bag, some work and some do not. The systems are all intact and ready to be revived to new. The interior needs significant work, the rugs have been removed, the headliner is hanging, but the electrical systems function, the doors open and close nicely, and you can see the incredible potential in this car. Here is what this car can be if you want a terrific and iconic car. We have a number of these cars in varying conditions and we do small and large restorations. What we would do is remove the interior, go through the mechanical and electrical systems, and paint the car. At the end, you would have a car worth more than the sum of its parts. Lets face it, where can you get a car like this for relatively short money? One that cant be duplicated.
