The right color combination can make or break any vehicle, but this 1987 Chevy C10 pickup looks simply awesome in its two-tone gray and blue outfit. It also packs a brawny 350 and a ton of optional equipment, showing us why these trucks remain so popular today. Although it was repainted a few years ago, this truck carries a factory-correct color combination and exudes a totally 80s vibe with the bright red tape stripe between the colors. Thats not to say that its dated, because the color combination is timeless. Park this truck next to one with original paint, and youll see that the blue is vastly deeper and richer than the original stuff, with a shine that puts even the best original paint to shame. The gray reflects straight bodywork underneath, and the break line between the colors is laser-straight and even across body lines. All the original trim was reinstalled, including the hood ornament and oversized side mirrors, and it includes a set of polished bed rails and a full bed liner for practicalitys sake. Chrome bumpers front and rear give the truck an upscale look and youll be impressed by tightly the stainless trim hugs the lower edges of the body. This is a really nice looking truck. The original interior is tasteful in dark blue fabric, with a load of comfort and convenience options. Its in outstanding condition given that its now 26 years old, although the drivers side seat cushion is starting to show its age with some minor wear in the usual spot. On the other hand, the door panels, carpets, headliner, and dash pad are remarkably well-preserved, and one glance inside tells you that this was not a stripped-down work truck. Options include factory A/C, power windows and locks, cruise control, and a tilt steering column, all of which make this big pickup a true pleasure to drive. The entertainment system has been upgraded to a newer AM/FM/CD stereo system that sounds fantastic, making this a truck thats ready to cruise cross-country at a moments notice. A sliding rear window is always a welcome accessory, creating draft-free ventilation inside on those days where you dont need the A/C-try it, youll like it! 350 cubic inches are plenty to get this truck moving and to haul just about anything thatll fit in the bed. A vast majority of these got the smaller 305, so this one really scoots around town easily and has a great muscle car V8 soundtrack to go with it. The engine bay is highly original, including the factory air cleaner, so you know it hasnt been abused or modified. Turn the key and it starts easily, which is what youd expect from a small block Chevy, and it feels like a far younger vehicle from behind the wheel. A 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission makes highway cruising easy and relatively efficient, reinforcing the luxury-oriented personality. The original wheels look a lot like vintage Rallys, and wear fat 255/70/15 white-letter radials all around. A handsome, well-equipped truck that still has a lot of life left in it.
