Iconic WWII Jeep a 1944 Ford Jeep GPW 4WD this is such an important piece of American and WWII history! Between 1941 and 1945, Willys and Ford built roughly 700,000 of these light and 4WD vehicles. When the War Department realized that hundreds of thousands of Jeeps would be needed for WWII requirements, Ford was given the contract to produce the Willys MB design. This Jeep design resulted from a design competition between American Bantam, Willys-Overland and Ford. During the course of the war, Ford built 277,896 GPW Jeeps and the last one was built on July 30th, 1945.
Jeeps, new or old, have made a definite name for themselves over the past 60+ years. Anywhere on the globe, if theres a road, trail or path...chances are that a Jeep has driven on it!
The exterior is finished in a Metallic Burgundy that shows very well. There has been prior touch-up work done and there are some small blemishes presently (please view photos below for reference), but over all this Jeep looks real good! The interior is in good condition, with no major wear showing on the light brown seats. There is some wear on the front carpeting, please reference the photos below or call for more details.
