Description

Someone with vision built this 1970 Chevy C10 pickup, because the combination of the silver and black paint job, the fresh interior, and black wheels give it almost an OEM-looking level of cool. Perhaps you have a Z/28 that needs a tow vehicle or youre just looking for a cool old truck, youll find that this one still works well as a truck but gets a lot more attention than a garden-variety modern pickup. The paint looks quite fresh, and the pattern suggests that someone took a note from the GM playbook and added the SS stripes. The subtle silver and black paint combination doesnt scream for attention, but up close its extremely well done with good finish quality and a shine that looks more show field than job site. No additions or deletions on the original trim, but thats a good thing since these trucks were known for their reserved good looks and dont need a lot of flash to look great. The long bed looks newer and shows no evidence that it ever led a hard life. Add the black lower areas and matching top and it has an almost sporty look. Excellent chrome on the bumpers, a new windshield, and those big block letters on the tailgate will ensure lots of folk sit up and take notice when this truck rolls past. The interior is stock, restored with a fresh seat cover on the original bench, and check out the tooling on the seat itself that might be meant to recall a saddle or some other manly thing. A late-model steering wheel gives it a slightly custom look, and in my opinion, these trucks offered the best-looking gauges of anything in the GM stable in the early 70s. Since the gauges only cover the bare minimums, a set of auxiliary oil pressure, temperature, and voltage gauges have been added under the dash, keeping an eye on the warmed-over small block. Fresh carpets on the floor add an upscale feel, the door panels shine like new, and the digital AM/FM stereo radio is a notable upgrade over the original. Motive force comes from a 350 cubic inch V8, as youd expect, and thanks to a Holley 4-barrel carb, aluminum intake, and a robust-sounding dual exhaust system, its quite entertaining to drive. They didnt take any risks in the engine bay, finishing it with Chevy Orange paint, some chrome dress-up items, and lots of new parts. Power steering and brakes are welcome on a big hauler like this, as is the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, making it effortless out on the open road. Underneath, its solid and clean, albeit not dressed for show, but the important stuff is in excellent order. Lately Dodge acts like they invented the smooth-riding coil-spring truck suspension, but this C10 had it decades ago, and it rolls on a set of handsome Pacer wheels wearing 235/75/15 blackwall radials that are exactly the right size. Clean, affordable, and ready to roll, this Chevy offers a lot of bang for the buck or perhaps the foundation of something truly spectacular. Its up to you, just give us a call today!
