1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 For Sale in Chicago. This A Code 289 Mustang has 1700 since it has been restored. Ford released the 289 \A\ series in 1965, with its production ending in 1967. It featured a 4.005-inch cylinder bore and 2.87-inch stroke, as did all 289s. The \A\ model had a compression ratio of 10:1 in 1965, which dropped to 9.8-to-1 for the rest of the production run. It generated 225 hp and 305 foot-pounds of torque. The 289 4brl is backed by a 4 speed manual transmission and and 3.00:1 8 inch rearend. Options on this fastback Mustang are heavy duty battery, manual disc brakes up front, Special Handling Package, 4 speed, A code 289, Accent Group, Visibilty Group, AM radio, tinted windshield, emergency flashers, back up lights, Delux front and rear seat belts, Sports steering wheel, padded instrument panel, cigarette lighter, bright trim window molding front and rear with side glass drip raill moldings, color keyed wall to wall carpeting, single speed electric windshield wipers, and Styled steel wheels with 14 inch Redline Tires (no longer on car). The heavy duty battery has been replaced with a newer factory style Ford Motorcraft battery. This Mustang currently has 15 inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels with radial tires. The restoration was done with all NOS parts, and the panels on the car are all original panels, that were never rusted.
