1957 Chevy Bel Air The Chevrolet Bel Air was a full-size automobile that was produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors for the 1950--1975 model years. Hardtops in the Chevrolet Deluxe Styleline model range were designated with the Bel Air name from 1950 to 1952, but it was not a distinct series of its own until the 1953 model year. Chevrolets styling was crisp and clean. Bel Airs came with features including interior carpet, chrome headliner bands on hardtops, chrome spears on front fenders, stainless steel window moldings, and full wheel covers. Models were further distinguished by the Bel Air name script in gold lettering. The 1957 Bel Air is among the most recognizable American cars of all time; well-maintained examples, especially Sport Coupes and Convertibles are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts. The daughter drove it for a few years and then the car was passed on to her brother when he turned 16. After his son was out of school, the father put the car in storage, as it was rarely driven. When he fell on hard times 3-4 years ago, he decided to sell the car. The car was sold to an Ohio man who restored it. He took the body off the frame. The frame was sand blasted and painted. The body was stripped and painted 1.5 years ago. The interior was designed by Cars Inc. Cars Inc custom built this interior for him, and then decided to use it as the template for the '57 Chevy going forward. It was the first of its kind.
