Assembled at Chryslers Hamtramck, Michigan manufacturing facility on November 10th of 1969, and delivered to Cantrell Guy Plymouth in Dayton, Ohio, this spectacular Hemi Cuda is the beneficiary of a no-expense-spared, frame-off restoration that was completed in the summer of 2007. During that rotisserie rebuild the cars arrow-straight body, which includes solid-closing doors on top of better-than-factory panel alignment, was stripped to bare metal, massaged into shape and thoroughly block-sanded into virtually flawless surfaces. Once those surfaces were completely clean and fully prepped, a spectacular coat of correct EF8 Ivy Green Metallic was buffed to a wet looking shine. And today, this sophisticated Plymouth sits as one super slick Mopar brute that features a perfect combination of no-nonsense looks and vicious street manners!
Thanks to a 1970 redesign, the Cuda lost all commonality with its Valiant stablemate and finally traded its lowly economy car lineage for the square-jawed muscle car image we all know and love. At the front of this sinister stoplight brawler, a traditional redline Cuda grille hangs crystal clear headlights between a correct elastomeric bumper, correct chrome-trimmed driving lights and clear, flush-fitting parking lights. At the top of the car, a familiar, hemicuda branded hood props correct stainless pins in front of like-new glass thats detailed by excellent stainless trim, showroom fresh drip rails and correct chrome mirrors. At the sides of the car, correct V6X Hemi stripes and pristine, satin-finished door handles ride above dent-free wheel lip mouldings, familiar rocker gills and a trademark gold Chrysler pentastar. And at the back of the car, a traditional satin black valence hangs like-new tail lights and a cool silver cuda emblem above a show worthy chrome bumper and correct chrome exhaust tips.
Levitate the cars green shaker hood and youll find a correct 426 cubic inch Hemi V8 thats been professionally restored to first class condition. As Chryslers top option for power hungry gearheads this legendary elephant block, which is complete with its famous 2468330 casting number, utilizes cast iron heads, an oversquare bore, a forged steel crank, forged steel connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons and a hydraulic camshaft to turn stout 10.25 to 1 compression into an advertised 425 horsepower and 490 lb./ft. of torque. All that high performance hardware is housed in a glossy Hemi Orange block which hangs an attractive set of Organisol coated valve covers above correct low restriction exhaust manifolds. Fuel and air are supplied by two large 4-barrel carburetors that are bolted to a high performance intake manifold. Compression is sparked by high quality Chrysler Electronic Suppression wires which are snapped onto a correct points distributor. (The cars original distributor is included with the sale) And resultant combustion is cooled by a correct 26 inch heavy duty radiator which comes complete with reproduction Chrysler hoses and old school squeeze clamps. Visually, the Ivy Green engine compartment is clean and understated... Well, as understated as a classic Hemi can be. The car runs just as well today as when it rolled into Cantrell Guys showroom 43 years ago. And naturally, all the little details like decals, a reproduction Mopar red cap battery, a correct Chrysler washer reservoir and a high performance seven blade clutch fan have been accurately duplicated or completely restored.
Toss this storied E-Body on a lift and youll find a completely rebuilt undercarriage that is so clean it couldve been teleported straight out of 1969. The high powered big block churns torque through an original A727 Torqueflite thats branded with a matching 187947 partial VIN. In front of that gearbox, a factory-accurate torsion bar suspension, which is complete with a thick sway bar, specially tuned shocks and bright gold control arms, helps increase drivability and lap times. Behind that gearbox, an 8.75 inch rear axle, which is stuffed with tall gears, utilizes rebuilt leaf springs and a second pair of specially tuned shocks to ensure drama free launches. Braking is handled by a familiar combination of power front discs and rear drums. Steering feels firm and responsive thanks to retro-fitted power assist. Spent gases are whisked away by an aluminized true dual exhaust system which features an H-pipe crossover, correct resonators and correct replacement mufflers. And all this first rate hardware proudly stands on a familiar set of 15 inch Rallye wheels which wrap traditional F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GT tires around pristine Plymouth centerpieces ...For more information please call the seller.
