APPRAISED FOR $106,834!
When is the last time you saw a 1961 Impala SS? They are quite rare and almost non-existent in Pro-Touring Trim. This car recently received a no expense spared frame off restoration. The frame was powder coated red and all suspension and differential were powder coated black. Suspension is courtesy of Air Ride Technologies and is controlled via command center in the dash.
The front and rear suspension as well as body mounts received urethane bushings and were reassembled with stainless steel bolts. The trunk bottom was dropped 6 inches to allow extra room for spare tire and jack. The bottom of the car received three coats of black Rock Guard to deflect stones and seal from moisture.
The body was bead blasted, etched primed then euro primed. It was block sanded then primed again for six coats of single stage urethane Roman Red and hand wet sanded to a gloss finish.
All of the body side moldings, upper and lower grill, headlight buckets and tail light bezels are flash chrome plated. All of the stainless trim pieces are polished.
The car has new front rear and side glass and the windows have been tinted. The front and rear bumpers were re-chromed. The car features a very rare factory front grill hood release. Other features include 2 speed electric wipers with washers, a custom B Cool radiator and AC condenser, dress-up kits with polished compressor, Vintage Air, Heat, and defrost, 605 power steering box and pump, 4.11:1 Posi Rear. The 409 engine has been completely rebuilt with 30 over Crane Z11 solid lifter cam, forged pistons, 1.75 roller rockers 2-4 barrel carburetors and a MSD ignition with transducer electric tachometer. The big 409 breathes out of hooker headers with 3 inch exhaust and stainless tips.
Here is a short list of other features on the one-of-a-kind Pro-Touring Impala: Chrome valve covers and air cleaner, custom dash inserts with Dakota digital gauges, AM/FM stereo cassette, CD 10 disc changer remote with amp, power seats, windows, and door locks with security system, two-tone custom buff and tan interior and a one piece custom headliner. The trunk continues the theme of the stunning interior with compartments for the spare tire, cd player, polished fire extinguisher and air ride tanks. The headlights are custom halogens, tail lights are LED units. The SS Impala rides proudly on Boyd Coddington Junkyard dogs - 18 inches on the front, 20 inches on the rear. Are you looking for a ride that will stand out on next year's Power Tour? You've just found it!
