Description

If you know anything about tri five Chevrolets you know that one of the more rare sought after body styles wasnt the Bel air Hardtop but the classic Nomad. They made plain station wagons but the Nomad was king. These cars had all the right trim and chrome. They allowed room for the family while still being a top of the line hot rod. In todays age these cars are becoming more hard to find and their value just keeps going up. The classic 57 Chevy Nomad you see here is a very cool car that stands above the rest as being a perfect example of old school hot rodding. The car was completely frame off restored in 1983 where wild custom paint was just as important as the motor under the hood. Just because it was finished out in 83 shouldnt take anything away from the car because it is virtually in the same condition today. Since finished it has only been stored in the correct climate controlled storage and has been extremely well cared for. The car was sold by the builder in 1993 to the current owners who still have the car at this time. A few components have been changed out and upgraded over time but those old school touches are all still there. The paint and undercarriage show some minor wear which you would expect out of any car that is driven. All of the panels from the fenders to the underneath is original and when restored was taken all the way down to bare metal. The Burgundy paint is beautifully done with custom accents around the body lines. This is then topped with nice flames that run all the way down the 2 door body to the rear fender. The bodywork was all done by Kustom Works in Holland, MI and the pain done by The Painter in Grandville, MI. In 1983 this custom was featured in Popular Hotrodding where it wore the name Pure Madness which is custom airbrushed in the rear. Those classic Belair fins grace each side with all of the correct stainless trim. Stainless is also found around each of those large Nomad windows which are all in just as good of condition. The chrome on these cars really pop and make the difference between a regular station wagon and a Nomad. The rear fold down door is topped with the correct vertical lines that look great and are accented by the paint. Burgundy painted to match mirrors are in place on both sides and our easily adjustable. Overall the car is very solid and has a great stance. It rides on a beautifully chromed 17 wheels with nice fresh Fuzion ZR1 tires. Powering up this classic is a brand new 383 Stroker that runs extremely well and was professionally built by H&S Auto out of Angola, Indiana. The motor is topped with a ton of chrome and all of the best components. The engine compartment is all custom painted to match with various components like the power brake booster being painted as well. The 4 core aluminum radiator is nicely polished and the radiator support has been fitted with custom polished panels. A new exhaust system has been added and the car delivers an awesome sound through dual exhaust. The automatic 350 Turbo transmission is fitted with a shift kit and operates very smoothly. Other new components include the brand new belts, new hoses and new power brakes (disc up front.) The front end isnt new but was just entirely rebuilt with w 500 C&M gear box. The rear end is fitted with 383 gears and nice Monroe air shocks. Other high quality features include the electronic ignition system and chrome traction bars. The car is a really good driver and will take you wherever you want to go. The interior of the car is done in that vintage Diamond tuck style and is all Burgundy. The 60/40 power seats are very comfortable and are fitted with matching seat belts. The carpeting is all very nicely done and the Hurst t-handle shifter is nicely mounted to the floor. In front of that is the added tachometer which is a nice addition to have. The dash is painted to match the car and has custom graphics on the passenger side. It is then topped with all the original style components and gauges. The AM/FM/Cassette player delivers a great sound and provides all your favorite tunes. An Ididit power steering column is in place and is topped with a very cool custom engraved leather wrapped steering wheel. As you can see this car has a ton to offer. It gets a ton of attention and every old hot rodder around will flock to check it out! You wont find many Nomads this nice for only $49,950.00!
