NCRS Top Flight Winner!!! Loaded with options, Fuel Injection, Power Soft Top, Power Windows, White Walls, Hardtop, AM Radio and much more! One of 1,918 produced! True Investment Grade Vehicle! The beautiful design of the 1962 Corvette showcased a few new firsts, and said goodbye to a few attributes that wouldnt return to Corvettes until decades later, if at all! The powerful 327ci V8 was introduced this year and would stay around for the next seven model years. The exterior chrome trim highlighting the side cove area disappeared leaving only color-matched paint and a single louver was the new accent. This would be the final year for exposed front headlights, a solid rear axle, an external rear trunk, and the availability of a power top. Things were about to change for the next generation of Corvette, which is why the 1962 model remains one of the most coveted designs to have in collections around the world! This absolutely gorgeous 1962 Corvette Fuelie Convertible has been professionally restored to meet the highest scrutiny of NCRS judges! Finished in exceptionally applied Honduras Maroon with a perfect Black Vinyl interior and matching black convertible top, it leaves no detail overlooked! Options include numbers matching 327ci Fuel-Injected V8 engine producing 360 horsepower, 4-speed manual transmission, very rare power convertible top, power windows, Wonderbar signal seeking AM radio, auxiliary hardtop, windshield washer, 3.70:1 Posi-Traction rear end, front license plate bracket, and narrow 1 whitewall BF Goodrich Silvertown 4-ply tires measuring 6.70x15! It will come with an original owners manual, two sets of GM keys, photos of the restoration, and an NCRS Top Flight Award when judged in Sacramento, California! Engine cast Number: 3782870 Engine Date Stamp: F0702RF Engine VIN Stamp: 2114487 Rochester FI Unit: 7017360, Serial 2321 Generator #: 1102268 Distributor #: 1111011 Harrison Overflow Tank Date: 62G It had traveled very few miles since the 2003 completion of the outstanding body-off-frame restoration and has always remained in a climate-controlled environment when parked. It has been museum kept for the last 5 years. In 2013, we asked nationally recognized Tim Thorpe of Thorpes Body & Corvette Shop to freshen the fuel infection system to operate at peak performance. He, along with Jim Staub, completely renewed the fuel system starting with a fresh fuel tank, connectors & clamps, high pressure fuel lines, cleaned injector plenum, cleaned and adjusts injector nozzles, new gaskets, sending unit, and fuel pump. They also adjusted the lifters, replaced the coil and distributor rotor for peak spark! It continues to run brilliantly and should not be a disappointment to anyone who is lucky enough to see or hear it firsthand! It represents 1 of only 1,918 Fuelies built in 1962! Finding one with this long option list is a tough thing to do! Please feel welcome to call with additional questions of schedule a viewing appointment!
