Yes, its completely impossible to look at this 58 Chevy Impala and not think of Ron Howards cruiser from American Graffiti. But to think this is only a movie tribute car is to do a grave injustice to this incredibly cool Imp, whose many virtues (like Tri-Power, A/C, and disc brakes) stand on their own. If you havent fallen in love with a white car, thats only because you havent seen a white 58 Impala yet. No, white isnt for every car, but wow, it sure looks fantastic on the big Imps shapely sheetmetal. The restoration was done a few years ago, but the great thing about white is that it ages quite well, and shows very few signs of stress. It also sharply defines panel gaps, and with white paint on the agenda, these guys seem to have spent a lot of time getting everything lined up just so, ensuring that all those body lines were straight and as narrow as possible. And, of course, theres no way to talk about a 58 Impala without detailing the incredible trim, including the massive front grille and bumpers and all the ornate stainless on the quarter panels. Restoring all this stuff costs tens of thousands of dollars, but as you can see, it was money well spent. Everything on the car glitters and sparkles, making a bold statement against that neutral background. Nothing works better with white paint than a bright red interior. The tri-tone fabric on the seats is as much an Impala trademark as the triple taillights, and combined with black carpets, this interior has a fantastic 50s vibe. Door panels that look like artwork feature red anodized inserts, and the two-tone steering wheel is most definitely a product of the jet age. Note the cleverly integrated R134 A/C system under the dash, which is better than almost any non-OEM installation weve ever seen. The gauges have been restored, and even the original AM radio remains in the center of the dash. And the big Imp is built to roam the interstates, so theres plenty of stretch-out room inside and a massive trunk with a correct rubber mat and full-sized spare tire. You can tell this one was built to cruise because of the thundering 348 under the hood. Topped by a Tri-Power setup, it was the top engine in the Impala and makes short work of the cars considerable mass. This one is also dressed for show with finned valve covers, bright Chevy Orange paint, and a bunch of new chrome accessories, including a high-output alternator in place of the original generator. Power brakes with a dual master cylinder feed a set of discs underneath, so this car has modern stopping power to match its performance. Power steering helps to navigate traffic at the local cruise-in, and a PowerGlide transmission feeds the stock rear end. A new dual exhaust system gives it a suitably muscular voice, and wearing pretty 17-inch Torque Thrusts this car looks just right. The 58 Impala is iconic for many reasons, but this one will attract attention simply because its gorgeous. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
