Ed, the seller, purchased this Oldsmobile in 1992 in North Carolina. He originally saw the car in 1988 but Peter, the owner, would not part with it. In 1992, Peter passed away and his wife contacted Ed’s Marine friend next door, to see if Ed was still interested. We have copies of the title back to the previous owner, in 1972. Ed was told that Peter actually bought the car new in California – but we do not have documentation to prove this. When Ed brought the car back to Ohio, it had an out-of-state inspection at a local Chevrolet dealer. They were required to pull the speedometer to verify there was no evidence of odometer tampering before they would complete inspection. At that time, the mileage on the title transfer said “actual”.
