Being offered for sale is a exceptional 1962 Honduras Maroon 327/340hp 4-Speed roadster. This extremely original car presents in “showroom” condition and comes with its original Sales Invoice, Owners Manual and 1962 Sales Brochure. This unmolested and well maintained 1962 Corvette’s engine block, transmission, rear, chassis and engine compartment components are original to the car and in excellent condition. A close examination of the photos offered show the original parts which set this 1962 Corvette apart from other restored solid axle Corvettes. First generation Corvettes possessing this level of originality and presenting in this condition are truly few and far between.
In 1991, this 43,562 mile car received an outstanding body-off restoration, in which original parts were restored not replaced, with reproduction parts, and the car was repainted in factory correct lacquer. Upon completion of the restoration the car was retired to a climate controlled environment where it remained until recently being reclaimed by a master Corvette restorer who recognized the rarity of the car and desired to return it to an active role in the Corvette hobby. The first order of business upon acquiring this special Corvette was to refresh the 1991 restoration by detailing the frame and engine compartment, rebuilding the carburetor, refreshing the dash cluster, replacing the carpet, restoring the seats with Al Knoch covers, and replacing the soft top with an Al Knoch correctly dated top. The car looks absolutely new and at its first NCRS Judging event it received a Top Flight Award with a score of 98.5, after being evaluated by advanced level NCRS judges.
