You have stumbled on to what many like to call a true survivor. It has made it through over 40 years and 100,300 miles of being all original while still operating well. The car was purchased new in California and spent the majority of its life there until going to Oklahoma and subsequently to Texas. It has remained in the same family the entire time and was never exposed to that salty and/or winter air that is known for destroying classics. It has been garaged since it was new and very well cared for. The body is extremely solid with no major damage or rust. It has never been in an accident and never left out in the elements. It is very straight and is still topped with the ORIGINAL white paint. The paint certainly doesnt have the brand new shine of new paint but looks awesome for its age. A neat thing about this classic is it could easily be driven as is with no problem. It would still demand respect for being all original as it is. You would be surprised at how many followers there are of survivor cars like this. On the other hand if you are looking for something to restore this would be the perfect starting point. It needs very little to look like new. There would be zero extensive body repairs as you typically see with similar cars. Everything is there. All the chrome, trim, emblems, etc are mounted in place so chasing down those parts is no worry. The entire drive train on this classic is just as original as the paint. The 283 motor mates up to the automatic transmission which shifts smooth. The car starts up with a simple turn of the key and runs very well. There is no smoking or issues. Very smooth. The car is an original factory air car with all of the components cleanly mounted in place. The original factory AC compressor is not currently working and needs to be rebuilt or replaced. But that is really the only repair needed. As you can guess, the interior is also all original. It is in good condition and everything is in place just as it was when it rolled off the factory line in 65. Things you typically see deteriorating like the dash pad is still all solid with no cracking or damage. It utilizes all Turquoise upholstery and components. The knobs, switches, and gauges are all original and working. Not a tear in the seat covers, etc. It is in amazing condition considering the age of the car. How often do you get to have a car where the steering wheel you are touching has been there from when it is new. Customizations and restorations are great but this car is like a time capsule. People love checking it out and you will love driving it! A real gem for only $13,900.00!!
