We are proud to offer this 1948 Plymouth P15 Special Deluxe Station Wagon Woody. The model P15 from Plymouth was their first model produced after WWII and the Woody (or “Woodie”) has become a nostalgic part of ‘30s and ‘40s Americana.
Most fascinating with this particular example is its accompanying notebook, dating all the way back to when the car was bought new (including price and delivery date), which is a written record by its original owner of all maintenance performed on the car. It covers everything done to the car through the 1970s including dates, prices paid, and miles at times of service. It is quite interesting to read the meticulous maintenance and restoration records the original owner kept for so long.
The most recent owner purchased the Woody from a Houston car collector who was liquidating his collection and moving out of state. Their service records date back to 1998. They include all service work done at Wallace Antique Auto Restoration and Craig’s Auto Repair Service including various rewiring, conversion to a 12 volt electrical system, air conditioning, etc. They also refinished the Woody from its previous cream color to its current metallic green shade.
This 1948 Plymouth Woody, while not a perfect specimen, is priced appropriately to afford its next owner a reminder of sunny California beaches and surfboards, summers with grandparents in New England, and family picnics. It is a collection of American memories to be passed on to its next caretaker to be shared in local car gatherings, parades, or maybe just a drive for ice cream with the kids on a summer night.
