Description

Manufactured by Inland Marine Corporation, which was a division of the Globe Corporation, this 1949 14 Globe Mastercraft is one of approximately 269 of this model produced. How many that are in existence today is a mystery but some experts say that there are less then 5 known and this is certainly the nicest. Designed by the famous designer, Brooke Stevens, near Lake Geneva, WI, they were produced from 1948 to 1950. This is said to be the 78th boat manufactured in 1949. As the original sales brochure said Fourteen feet of the fleetest, finest inboard runabout youve ever seen! Designed for high speed and amazing maneuverability, with maximum safety, the all mahogany Globe Mastercraft packs plenty of power - a 45 h.p. Graymarine engine. And youll pass plenty of bigger and more expensive boats, because the Mastercrafts special convex section, hard chine hull was designated by a famous naval architect and is built by men who know and love fine boats. This exciting new boats two-toned beauty speaks for itself. Take the wheel of a Globe Mastercraft yourself - soon! Powered by a 45 horsepower Gray Marine 4 cylinder, the boat runs great and starts up with no problems. Weve had the boat out on the water where it performed flawlessly and drew loads of attention. This Globe Mastercraft was just chosen at the Door County Maritime Museum as the Peoples Choice Winner for 2012. The condition of the boat is nearly flawless with a high quality restoration being performed just a few years ago. All of the wood is in great condition with no imperfections to note. The white vinyl seats inside all look great with no staining or wear. On the bow you will find an extremely rare bow light that was designed by Brook Stevens. This light is said to be highly treasured and impossible to find. Its unique to this boat. While used as a display piece, the boat was still exercised regularly to ensure its usability. We had the boat out on a 10 minutes cruise around a local lake and it ran perfectly. Sold on a registration only, the boat comes with the trailer you see in the photos. Its finished with a high gloss black that looks just as good as the boat. Its titled as a 2007 Yacht Club and is still on the Certificate Of Origin. VIN for the boat is R4978.
