Description

When most people begin their search for the ultimate 50s cruiser to drive, show and enjoy, they usually have three basic criteria. First and foremost they want something thats impressive enough to turn heads. Secondly, they want something thats pedigreed. And last but not least, they want something thats fully-sorted and ready to go. Fortunately the gearheads at RK Motors Charlotte pride themselves on specializing in first rate classics of all kinds, and they always have cars like this concours restored Bel Air Fuelie that are rare, reliable and ready to supply everyone in town with stare-induced neck pains! With an original V8, a dramatic Red and Silver interior and correct Imperial Ivory paint, this pristine tri-five is certainly some of the coolest metal to ever roll out of Detroit. As a fully sorted, fully detailed drop-top thats complete with a desirable Powerglide transmission and many NOS parts, its a great opportunity to pick up a top notch investment piece. And thanks to a recent rotisserie restoration, its a car that can be enjoyed for years without worry. If youre in the market for a spectacular cruiser that has tons of character and an unbeatable pedigree, this awesome Chevy is the car for you!

Not only is this Bel Air a correctly restored, highly authentic convertible which can be shown and driven, it also features a rare Ivory, Red and Silver color combination thats a refreshing change from the overtly vibrant color schemes that adorn most 50s Detroit metal. Take a close look at the cars solid California body and youll find a collection of curves, ornaments and correct code 794 Imperial Ivory paint thats completely accurate to how it left GMs Los Angeles, California assembly plant back in August of 1957. Naturally, that bodys sculpted panels are straight and clean from every angle, and even gaps suggest its 2010 concours-style rotisserie restoration was an attempt at sheer perfection. And on top of that body modern two-stage paint is bright and glossy, displaying a finish thats been thoroughly wet-sanded and carefully buffed to a show worthy shine. Many collectors think Turquoise and White is the quintessential 57 Chevrolet color combination; but when you see this three owner Fuelie in person, youll understand why variety is, indeed, the spice of life.

As one of the most famous automotive designs on the planet, the average enthusiast can rattle off most of the 57 Bel Airs significant design cues without even looking at one. And from its gold-trimmed hood to the tips of its stainless-trimmed fins, this convertible Fuelie literally defines the term iconic. At the front of the car a heavy, body-width bumper hangs an NOS grille behind an NOS cross-bar, clear white parking lights and NOS bumper bullets. Above that grille, Bel Air-exclusive hood ornamentation sits between bright T3 headlights and good looking, NOS spear bullets and spoons. At the sides of those ornaments classic tri-five Chevy stainless, which visually connects the cars front fenders with its rear fins, is intensified by NOS fender louvers and gold, Bel Air-exclusive quarter emblems. At the edge of that stainless, dent-free rocker moldings and coveted Fuel Injection cross-flag emblems combine with traditional chrome door handles to lend a finished look to the cars regal profile. Opposite those rocker moldings, spotless stainless trim combines with a chrome drivers mirror, bright stainless wipers and a fresh Ivory top to frame date-coded, factory-correct glass. And at the back of the car, peaked stainless trim, which begins at the top of fins and continues down to chrome trimmed tail lights, flows into a second body-width bumper thats centered below an NOS antenna and Bel Air-exclusive trunk ornamentation.

Lift this classics clean white hood and youll find an original 283 cubic inch Super Turbo Fire V8 thats been professionally rebuilt, expertly detailed and aesthetically finished to look EXACTLY as it rolled off GMs Los Angeles production line. With the help of an upfitted Ramjet mechanical fuel injection system, which is constructed of 100% date-correct components, this hot mill churns out an astonishing one horsepower per cubic inch and creates a stout 305 lb./ft. of torque! That tagged Rochester fuel injection system, which inhales through one of the biggest air cleaners ever devised, bolts to a correct Winter intake thats seated in familiar Chevy Orange paint. At the sides of that intake, stamped and silver detailed Chevrolet valve covers complement fully restored cast iron exhaust manifolds that are piped into a factory-correct exhaust system. Behind that intake, a traditional points distributor shoots fire through fresh Radio GM wires that are loomed neatly down the sides of the block. And in front of that intake, a correctly tagged radiator circulates coolant through reproduction GM hoses and authentic metal squeeze clamps. In addition to its killer powerplant, this Bel Air offers an accurate and impressive engine bay thats complete with a proper fuel filter, an NOS wiper motor, an NOS electric vacuum assist motor, an NOS heater and even a reproduction Delco yellow cap battery. And visually, the cars satin black fenders serve as a perfect bridge between the small blocks bright orange glow and the bodys slick white sheen.

Underneath this razor-sharp drop-top a straight X-frame chassis is finished in flawless satin black paint and, when viewed next to the cars plethora of clean suspension parts, looks so nice youll swear its floated down less than 10 miles of country black top. Above that top notch chassis, solid floorpans sport a chip-free combination of traditional red oxide primer and correct Imperial Ivory overspray. And behind the engine a date-correct 2-speed Powerglide transmission twists power through a fully rebuilt factory rear end. Holding that road ready powertrain in place is a fully-sorted suspension which has been equipped with factory power steering and rebuilt to factory specifications. Short, confident stops come courtesy of rugged four wheel power drum brakes. At the center of the floors, a factory replacement exhaust system sends spent gases through spotless, mandrel bent pipes and stainless turbo mufflers. And putting the power to the pavement is a correct set of 14 inch Ivory wheels which spin classy 7.50-14 BF Goodrich Silvertown white walls around NOS Chevrolet hubcaps. All fuel lines, brake lines and stainless fasteners appear fresh and free of weathering. And everything from the cars AC oil canister to its stainless steel fuel tank is clean, functional and ready to show.

The correct GM code 683 Red and Silver interior stitched inside this Bel Air is just what youd expect in a classic of this caliber, and theres hardly any sign that any human being has ever been seated behind the cars steering wheel. The firm bench seats are covered in a dramatic mix of red and silver vinyl that perfectly contrasts the cars light-hearted paint. The curved dash is layered in bright red urethane, and features spectacular stainless trim thats stretched between an NOS emergency brake handle and an NOS electric clock. The stylish gauge pod, detailed in chrome, centers a large bowtie branded speedometer between a smaller fuel gauge and temperature gauge. At the center of the interior, youll find a correct Wonder Bar AM/FM radio and an NOS control unit for the cars NOS heater system ...For more information please call the seller.
